Hello , Cmdr !

As you know we Marines try to be orderly .So I do this . Italian ships in one group and so on .Each group has ships from both wars . This way the viewer can appreciate the logical progression of the designs . The Tankers I build are all 1/160 and 1/87 in scale so I only have a few and they have their own display area . I used to do it by scale , But that got to confusing .       Tanker - Builder

Ditto on putting them wherever they will fit.

Since my display shelves and cases are almost jam full, I put new finished models wherever I can cram them in.  In fact, I am starting to display them more by age, older models coming out of case and being trashed to make room for newer builds :-(

I have mine placed in alphabetical order by tail code, with non tail code aircraft being placed where they fit in between.

When the one of each tailcode set is finished, they will be in numerical order by Aircraft Carrier number.

After that is all done, they will be in numerical order by squadron number.

I don't expect to get the "one of each squadron" set done in my lifetime,,,,,,,,,,but, if I do, then the additional builds after that will have to just mix in amongst the Squadron Order set of builds. (that will also be a wopping 12 display cases, lol)

I usually just place them where they fit, although I have two cases for my aircraft and one is jets and one is prop planes, but otherwise it's where they fit.

I have limited display space, so I rotate what I have out on display.  Pretty random really; whatever strikes my fancy.  Could be a car, ship or airplane.  Occasionally my wife will make a suggestion and I usually follow her advice (for political reasons if nothing else).

At the moment my are just placed randomly where ever there is space. But I am hoping this year I will get my own model space with room to display, and I already have its planned. My models will be split into different sections. My German armour will be in unit order, SS in one group and army in another. My German aircraft will be split into type, fighters, bombers group attack etc, with each type being in unit order. Then my Norfolk Airfields collection which will be in alphabetical order by airfield. Another section for modern US aircraft, in alphabetical order and then MiG's in number order.

Then there will be separate sections for Star War's, Star Trek, ships and any thing else.

Well, that's the plan.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I group mine by country, era, and in some cases by campaign area also where needed. My US armor is broken down between wars and service: WWII,  Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, Gulf War, Army & Marines. In the WWII stuff, it is grouped ETO, MTO, and PTO. British Armor similarly done. Soviet in WWII and Cold War. German seperated between Wehrmacht & Bundeswehr- WWII  subdivided between Eastern & Western Fronts, North Africa/Italy.

Display them by country, by type of aircraft...  I'm in the process of putting up new display shelves. I'm going to have a lot more space to display.  Maybe I'm being a little OCD but just wondering how everyone does it.  99% of what I build us aircraft.  Once I'm finished installing I will have pics up.  Thanks.
