Try to refrain from joining more than you can handle, its all to easy to get sucked in, and the large number of GB's at the moment make it even harder.

Take part in a few before starting your own, as GM says, they are not as easy as they might look.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

It's good form to finish the ones that you join, even if you go over the limit.

Running one is hard work- success depends on keeping the participants interested and responding quickly to their progress.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Just as was said above. You can join as many as you want, and if you don't complete your build, no worries, you just don't receive the badge. They give me a reason to complete a project that I would otherwise put aside once it started to bog down. Anyone can comment, it's not just confined to those who joined.

Jump into one, I have a few going on myself and they still have a way to go.

Group builds are just a group of people coming together to build models which follow a theme. You could have one for just F-14's of for any WWII german armour its all up to the people who take part. They can be good as you can learn a lot from other people building the same type of kit as you. They normally have an end date just so they dont drag on forever as well.

Have a look at some of the ones on here and you will see lots of people take part and get a lot out of them. Also its fine to ask questions, the more the better as you can guarantee that someone else will be thinking the same thing

A Group Build is when forum members all get together and build a particular subject, like Russian Front,D-Day,Modern Armor,Early Jets, and the like.Usually one person puts out a feeler,if there is enough interest,it goes ahead,The Leader will set the ground rules and make a badge.

Members of FSM  from anywhere in the world may participate, usually a start pic is needed along with progress pic,and a final pic for a gallery.Ask for and give as much advice as needed, comment and commend on other builds. Its the interaction that makes a Group Build enjoyable.

Can someone explain to me the Group Builds? Are these for the folks on the forums that live in the same area or are they for the folks that are part of the IMPS? Until I joined the forums I have never really had much interaction with fellow modelers so some of this is still new to me.
