Sheeeee-ucks guys you must all have cash coming out your ears! :) With the exception of a guillotine model that was lost in the packing for my various moves around the country, I assemble all the kits I buy. I cant see myself spending money on a kit that I'll never touch.

Gee whiz, Greg. I thought I was the only one who had that kind of stuff! Wink [;)] I have two of them in the original box release. I'm building one and putting the other aside for a rainy day. Big Smile [:D]

probably the 1/72 Tamiya Vosper Patrol Boat sitting in my shelf. it's not really a ship model, nor is it wise to approach it as an armour project. i can't visualise it in any form other than the pictures from the tamiya catalogue. in other words, a toy boat. i can't build anything better than i can imagine it, which is usually not a problem with my other projects. but this is missing the point, i buy every kit with the intention of building it, She Who Has To Be Obeyed has great wisdom and foresees that i will have the classic collectors' problem of more kits than i can ever build. (who? me?) i have to finish everything on my shelf before i can buy anymore. sigh! 39 more kits, that will take me a while.

I've purchased many low quality kits, usually on clearance, with the intention of using them as a spare parts supply. I'll use the larger pieces such as wing halfs and fuselage halfs for painting experiments and for practicing engraving panel lines. Also,
you never know when a spare decal from one of these kits might be just what you're looking for.

Many kits under that unbuilt catagory.
Just as many stories.
  • Most recent is a certain pair of parts are so deformed and partially missing, indi track links, I've been looking for replacements, even vinyl will do. So that one is sitting and waiting.Sleepy [|)]

  • Whenever someone gives me a kit, I'll put it at first priority, above a current project. Always finish them to show the friend who gave it to me. Should see the happy look on their face, then usually results in another gift to me later, then should see the happy look on MY faceBig Smile [:D]
