Pat: I am really liking the Celica kit. I've never seen that before and it is rather choice. Grand score

Bish: That Centurion is sweet. That is one tank that I consider a great subject.

John: Great score on the Star Trek kits.

Stik: Love the vintage Ki-100.

Just a couple of new 1/72 additions to my stash recently. Always happy with bargain auction scores.

Nice score Joe.  I have a mark I hasegawa kit and 303 markings.  Does that kit have a 1 piece canopy?  Mine does and I was a bit disappointed

Thanks,

John

Yeah, unfortunately this kit also has a one piece canopy. But, hey, it came with a mask set. That was a bonus.

Joe, your not wrong. And still going 75 years later.

Falcon, you certainly got some great deals on those to Trek kits!

Joe, nice scores there too. Im looking forward to building that Ki-100. It’s certainly the best detailed Otaki/ARII kit thatve seen yet. I’m pretty sure that the Hasegawa Hurricanes are mostly common molds with just a few parts sprues different for the different Marks. Gotta love that Mig-29!

Well I’ve been on something of an eBay buying spree of decals lately...

Plus I picked up a couple Blu Ray discs...  two mid 80’s films that are fun to watch

And lastly our own John Eaton contacted me back channel about selling me this kit when I had mentioned in a post that it was one of my “holy grail” wants. He offered this for a very reasonable price plus shipping... thank you John!

Awsome Stick, great looking decals. I love Dune!

That Hustler brings back memories.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks. I have a bunch of builds for those decals. And I’m really looking forward to the Hustler. What a machine! Dune is one of my guilty pleasures. I can’t wait to see it and hear it on the new home theater system here.

Inflation Wink I remember seeing them on clearance for a bit more than that from a KB Toys outlet store back in the 90s. I guess if you hold onto them long enough you can make your money back. Now they cost a lot more!

Nice score Brandon Yes

Picked these up last Friday on a paint run.

I really like the BMW MSport colors on the BMW M1, but I found a markings for a a car that ran in IMSA back in the 80's that was sponsored by Winnebago and Jim Beam.  Can't get more redneck than that.  As for the T-45, I've got a set of Caracal decals on the way with markings for the Red Hawks, VT-21 out of NAS Kingsville.  I took pictures of this plane a few years ago at the Alliance Air Show in Ft. Worth.  If I remember right, the pilot's call sign was either Dark Helmet or Lord Dark Helmet.

Nice cathc. For a second there when i looked at the condition of the box, i thought i don't remember selling mine. had mine for years an i think i got it for a good price compared to what they are going for now. Just need to find the time to build it.

Cool stuff guys!

John: I love those Trek kits.

And I'm a big fan of the '80s Dune too. Other than a few odd choices it's pretty good adaption of the novel. We'll have to wait and see about the current movie project.

Ended up taking a day trip to Phoenix, AZ a couple weeks ago and visited Andy’s Hobby Headquarters.  I wouldn’t normally buy so much at retail but I wanted to make the four hour round trip worth it.

I just picked up  the Meng models 1/35 Jagdpanther G2 with piltzen crane.  Looks good to me.  I have Dragons, Tamiya and Academy, Tacom and others. I just have a thing for Jagdpanthers.  I  guess it's related to the older box art on Avalon Hills board game, Panzer Blitz.  ( I wore out 2 of games a long tme ago).

Nice acquisitions. I’m sure that Andy appreciated your business. It’s good to hear that he is open again.

armornut,

That's what it started out as.  The mission was to procure some Humbrol paints for my Airfix 1/72 Provost and Phantom locally, rather than order them.  At my first stop, efforts to procure said materials were in vain as they no longer carried Humbrol.  I did however procure some Chrome Yellow for an upcoming Kentucky ANG P-51, along with the models.  I then proceeded to my second stop and was defeated yet again by the fact that they had stopped carrying Humbrol as well.  I did however, procure some Vallejo Dark Sea Blue for the Corsairs for The Forgotten War GB.  I called the third stop on my list and they confirmed that they no longer carried Humbrol either.  While happy with my purchases, I was somewhat dejected as I had failed to accomplish my primary mission.

Had to take our cat in for her yearly checkup, and stopped by the LHS in Salem.  Picked up a Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher and a lot of MM paint in acrylic, enamel, and metalizer.  They were nice enough to give me 10% off on the entire lot, but still dropped $200.

One more shop to hit in Beaverton when we go up for a VA appt on the 18th.  They stock several lines including humbrol that I want to get for several big Airfix kits I have.

Great haul GreySnake. I've been looking hard at the new Tamiya KV-1. Looks to be a sweet kit.

No new kits, but I did get some new decals from Caracal in.  Bought another set of the P-51 decals because I need the squadron markings from the D on the sheet for a P-51H flown by the 111th FIS out of Ellington Field after they returned from Korea.  The FJ-4 decals were bought because I liked the Engine Gray, Chrome Yellow, and International Orange scheme and as replacement decals for the Emhar kit.  Turns out the Emhar kit is a -4, which is notably different from the -3.

The F-105G decals were bought because they have markings for an EF-105F model flown by a friend of mine's dad in Vietnam.  The T-45 decals were bought because of the Redhawk markings from VT-21, NAS Kingsville. I will have to source a third kit because of the sharkmouth markings from VT-9, NAS Meridian.

Waiting for my package from Scale Motorsports to arrive.

armornut,

I hope so as well. I don't see me having to venture to the local hobby shops anytime soon.
