Nice stuff there guys but gee friggin' whiz RX7850 what a haul!!!

LOL, thanks Gamera ,

When I got home I got the look from the wife, but she's always been supportive of my hobby. Now I need to figure out how to make more room for them.

I ordered the screens, zim, and indies to go with the KT And I made a stop by HL to get some supplies and grabbed the Tamiya Hanomag 251/1.

I'm contemplating a diorama.

By Hanomag i am guessing you mean the old Tamiya 251 Ausf C.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Been awhile since I last posted, but now that I am using a new photo hosting site (See Ya P.B!) I thought I would post up. Went to a model show in N.H Saturday and was fortunate enough to score a great deal with the vendor that I have done business with in the past. Due to personel reasons he was getting out of the model scene and as a result I bought all the braille scale he had. On our way out my son and I recieved a few chuckles from on lookers as we excused ourselves in order to avoid colliding into fellow patrons while nimbly balancing four huge boxes overflowing with kits. As an added bonus a halfdozen of the kits contained aftermarket details and several boxes had two kits in them. I also like all the latest procurements everyone has been able to parley keep them coming.

Acquired this one a couple of Saturdays ago from the HobbyTownUSA in Asheville, NC, while I was working there over that weekend at one of my hospitals.....

Luckily, the decals will allow me to paint it an overall gloss white, with minimal masking probably on the tops of the wings. I was kinda apprehensive about buying it (mainly because of the premium mark-up for being a "limited edition" kit), figuring that I'd be doing a lot of masking for some of the paint scheme, but I was very relieved when I bought it anyway and opened the box....

It's got a 2014 copyright date, so it's a relatively new mold/mould (I guess it has to be, as the 787-8 ain't that old anyways....). Not sure when it's gonna get on the bench, but, with no interior, it might be one of those weekend builds in the next few months.

I ordered 5 items the other day and 3 have arived.

It's part of my shift to 1/72 armor and 1/144 aircraft.

That Merkava is big compaired to my Strumtiger. Not being a tanker, I had no idea these guys were this big.

I'm still waiting for a Revell F-5 and F-14A, both 1/144.

Modern militart equipment does tend to be bigger that its WW2 equvalant, just compare fighters. Thing with modern armour is that despite the size increase, the weights have not gone up that much.

I bought these at the LHS. This place is very expensive, they charge $30-40 or more then the online retailers but I had a gift card so...

Hunter, I picked up the AAA guns on eBay. A seller called Lots of Models out of Missouri.

Nice score Mike! I agree about the tracks. I just don't trust Tamiya's single length tracks. In the past they have broken on me a few times after the kits are finished. There are plenty of HVSS AM tracks out there.

More wonderful acquisitions via the internet that the postman delivered on Friday!!!!

First up, I finally found this Meng 1/35  Soviet Light AA Guns set that I have been eyeballing for awhile for a great price with free shipping. The set comes with four guns: single, twin, and quad mount 14.5mm ZPU mounts; and a twin gun 23mm ZU mount.

and then this new release Star decal set for M47's in Europe- USAREUR and Bundeswehr.

Star also came out with two more M47 decal sheets for that tank in service of various countries.

Now that is a true find Stik....where did you pick up that Russian AA at? That is a great looking kit. I cannot wait to see that when you finally have time to build it. Enjoy it friend!

Yeah, Stik it was fresh from the register lol. I took a peek inside the box when I got home and I am in awe of the detail level. The only thing I don't like are the tracks. I will have to pick up some Indy links later. :)

also, there isn't much for markings, just stars. I'll have to look into something different I suppose lol.

What an amazing score Eagle! I would love to take any of those home.

Thank you!

The prices were unusually low for some reason this year.  Not sure if it was because of Irma or not.  LOL!  But I did not go there with the intent of buying that many kits.  Actually want to get a bunch of tools and accessories...but again, maybe because of Irma, Janes Tools was a no show, so.......I spent my money on kits.  LOL!

Dayum! That is a nice haul! I see some armor kits in that pile I'd love to have had a chance to grab.

But I suppose I'll be happy with this purchase today;

That now makes four Shermans I have in my stash. :)

too many glowing reviews. I just had to have one. ;)

Thanks Mike!  Yeah, I'm trying to build up my armor stash since getting into them.  I know a couple of them are pretty cheap ones, but I couldn't stand seeing them there all by themselves.  LOL!

Love the Easy 8!  I have that one in my sights also.

Eagle, that is a one show haul to put everyone else to shame... insert the Keanu Reeves “woooh”...

Hunter, that Huey looks too sweet indeed! Kitty Hawk did a super job on the classic bird. I am looking forward to building it, but with this year rapidly winding down, it will be sometime next year at the soonest with all I already have on my plate and life events coming up. But there will be a WIP thread once that happens.

Sounds good Stik...I'll be looking out for your WiP

Mike, that Sherman looks like it’s still in your car fresh from the cash register... LOL!

Rob, you sure made a good profit off of your initial investments... What was the Star Wars kit you got on closeout?

I scored a couple of new kits; the local closeout store carries some old round 2 models by AMT. I got a dune buggy that I had always wanted as a kid for a whopping $7.99 along with another star wars kit.

My bigger news were actually a handful of eBay sales. An old, unopened Gameboy Advance SP I had bought about a decade ago before I was to deploy to Iraq sold for $425! I also saw that a few of the non-US 1/72 scale Dragon Sherman tanks kits had been selling for a lot. So I sold a Firefly Vc and M4A4 for $53 and $33 respectively. Made over $500 this week which gives me quite a balance to go shopping on eBay myself.

I bought the Gameboy for around $60 around 2007 or so. One of the Shermans had a price tag of $14.95 and the other probably cost the same. Not a bad turn around for an initial cost of $90.
