M. Brindos

I found a Hobby Town in Redmond, WA. I thought they were all gone in this state!

fortunately I had some money with me. :D

I only wish I had more money with me!

This little beauty was found in a guys garage in Port Townsend.

My folks brought it back for me while on a little vacation there. I'm looking forward to putting this one together. :)

Great haul, Mike! I've got the later version of the Shinden kit by Hasegawa (1995 boxing), and also the Zoukei-Mura kit that was released a couple of years ago. I didn't realize that Hasegawa had released it before 1995. Cool!! There are actually some grainy videos of one of those flying just before Japan surrendered back in 1945. Just Google J7W1 and you'll get a list of them.

And, just in case you didn't know (I certainly didn't until my daughter-in-law corrected me), it is pronounced "Sheen Dehn", not "Shin Din" like I thought. Some more interesting trivia for ya!

I'm quite new to the forum and found this thread interesting. Here are models I just purchased on the 16th at an AMPS show in Austin hosted by the ASMS (Austin Scale Model Society). It was just an armor show, so most these kits are armor.

The Miniart Valentine and Hobbyboss LWS (amphibious vehicle with teeth) were won from the raffle, I actually got the raffle tickets from someone who had to go (I think his wife was dragging him out). I feel bad for him.

Also this looks like a lot of stuff, but I got some good deals and bought this for the equivalent price of the Takom king tiger.

(Also first time trying to post pictures. If it doesn't work I'll go in to edit and try to get them on)

Stack of what I bought

Figures I'll eventually need for german dioramas

Figure and poles for german armor dioramas

Tamiya M5A1 stuart with Verlinen set, chassis with interior will be displayed by side of the upper hull and turret

Verlinden M5A1 interior set

This dornier kit is brand new, it was sealed but I opened it. Managed to get it for a solid deal at 15$.

Tamiya 1:48 Dornier

Miniart Valentine

Dragon Tiger 1

Hobbyboss German LWS

Jerry Cans and ochre paint I will use for flesh tone variation

(Sidenote, how do you put in an image so it appears on the forum without a link, I am only managing to hyperlink)

Nice hauls guys!!! I'm not doing an inventory of what I bought this year since I don't really want to know..... Blind Fold

Blackdog: Beleted Happy Birthday and nice stuff there.

DD: Great selection, that Hasegawa Ryusei is a great kit, I need to finally get around to building mine. And love that ROKAF T-50B Black Eagle scheme. I've looked at it a few times but never got around to picking one up.

Same here, it scares me just thinking about it.

I would think so.....you have been pretty active this year.  Stick out tongue

Ye, i have a bit Big Smile But you gotta get em when you can.

Look what the postman brought by yesterday.

I will be doing this little fella in a winter whitewash, no WOTs markings. I'm not into the game because I'm horrible at it.

The kit came out in 1972 under the Italaerei name before the name change to Italeri. Parts were changed in 2016 and the new boxing and added decals in 2017.

Oh and I get a neet bottle of liquid glue with it as well.

That looks like a fun kit.  But....I kind of feel that way with all German armor.

Dwayne or Dman or just D.  All comments are welcome on my builds.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

They have some great lookins ships as well. Stick out tongue

Kirov class battlecrusier, almost as big as the Yamato.

Slava class cruiser, one of the best looking ships IMO

Udaloy class destroyer. Why can't we come up with somethig that looks this nice?

Love those digital camo schemes but I think I've said before I haven't worked up enough guts to try one.

The kit does include decals for the digital camo, but I'm probably just going to use them as patterns to make masks.

I'm also in agreement about Russian modern equipment. The SU-27 & 33...Sexy!

Yeah, I love the look of those two, my favorite modern aircraft. Smile

That is a sweet looking kit Clemens. That will certainly be choice when you build it regardless of the markings you choose.

That will be fun to see, love the Tiger on the tail.

I might actually build it without the tiger. there is a version of the paint job without it. Depends on how well the decals behave.

Very nice. The Russians have some beutuful lines on the planes ships and tanks IMO.

Hey Max, I know how you feel. My 1/1 project is progressing since I found a good job. But I'm spending most of my time pulling over 100 hours in two weeks working with an hour and a half to two hours commute one way during the week.

Fortunately all the extra OT has made it possible to fix my dumb car and it's getting to the point where it's a reliable and now pleasant car to drive.

I just dropped around $700 in wheel and tire upgrades in preparation for the weather. But I now have 13in. Konig race rims sitting on 165/65 R13's and the ride is much improved over the stock 12's.

my car will never be a racer or a show car, but I'm getting pretty happy with it after all the money that has been spent on all the rebuilds.

I'm just reporting in as I got sidelined on this 1/1 thing and have been hanging out on the Hodaka Forum with W.I.P. I do check in the modeling forum daily to see what I'm missing and this is the only place I can do it. Scratch Building could also work as not much original left. The goal is to build a vintage road racer and/or land speed record 100cc class attempt that will double as a show bike. I'm getting to old to attempt these endevours but one must have some goals for a project.

Plenty in the stash for the Winter coming up. 1/48 NASA F-104, F-4C that has a place reserved in the Museum. There's also a slot in the museum for an Me-109 which is hiding under the bench. One more that's worrying me is a 1/72 FB-111A like my uncle used to fly. Hmm, too many projects including my house painting project that's finally coming along.

The vintage Hodaka road racer is in the seemingly perpetual prototype stage with concept wheels, engine, big brakes, clip on bars, rearset controls, gathering parts and on and on. Big fun with sand blasting, grinders and other power devices but taking a large work area. At least it's a small motorcycle.

That's my report if you missed me, LOL. Back to modelling soon if nothing else for the social aspect.

Max

Here it is as an acquisition awhile back.

You guys have some nice kits! Looks like we'll be seeing some really interesting builds this next year.  :D

I made a stop at Hobby Lobby (I know it's controversial, but it's the best game in town) and found the World of Tanks Chaffee on clearance for a price it's actually worth so I had to grab it.

I recently inventoried my stash and put it on Scalemates... it was about 50% larger than my last inventory and estimate... I need to live a lot longer than before to get most of it built... and still not tell my Mrs about the latest count either...

Just noticed this thread today, and it got me to thinkin': How many kits have I bought this year already? So, I did  an inventory to update my Access database list (been awhile since I had done that, too), and, surprisingly, to me, it was a LOT more than I had realized:

Crap!! Twenty-two kits and detail kits! My feeble brain housing group thought it was more like about 7 or 8. Here they each are, in random order:

I think I'm done buying kits for a while.

Oh, and folks......don't mention any of this to my wife!!! Boo Hoo Propeller Toast

i just had my birthday and this is what i got. 2017-09-10_05-18-58 by Jerry Richards, on Flickr

the revell f-15 said 2017 on the box so i got exited over that. i opend it to find 1979 stamped on the plastic with raised panel lines. o well im sure it will build up nicley.the revell fw-190 is stamped eduard on the plastic. the academy looks nice being i have no modern jets both are nice to get. the hobby craft is a older kit from the looks of it but its the kit im most exited about. all the 109s in my stash are e and up so to get a 109b is really cool. pluss several bottles of model master paint. so there you have it. it was a very happy birthday for me.  have a good 1

I just picked up the 1/35 Jagdpanther II by Amusing.  I'm a sucker for the jagdpanther.  I've been that way ever since the game Panzerblitz in 1970. I love the looks of the jagdpanther on the box.  Heck, in 1970, i didn't even know it existed.  Wasn't Avalon Hill wonderful. Looks good, not very complicted, it should be a fun build.
