How many models do you have going at the same time?

Nine or ten+ in the mix, really can't count. Probably why I can't finish the two GBs I'm supposed to be part of. 35th trump smerch, 35th trump scud, 350th typhoon sub, 32nd typhoon aircraft, the list goes on.

4 current projects right now. And 5 more on bench side.

In the past it would probably have been only one at a time. 

More recently though I've worked a couple builds simulataneously.  Unfortunately though I had to set stuff them aside for a awhile, due to business travel.  As such, right now I guess I have three builds that I want to get back to soon, one that's on a long term hold until I gain enough experience to finish it off, and I am anxious to start two more as part of a group build.

 i know it's silly, but i get frustrated with one, start another one..... urgh!!! like you said, i get close to the finish then hit the puase for whatever reason, but thay do eventually get done.

 as we are now in various stages: m109a2, tiger, king tiger. p-59a, f15e, uh60 black hawk. kenworth w900 and the fruehauf dry box wagon(trailer), '67 chevelle(learning how to cut/hinge doors) and a '37 ford that my daughter wants turned into a pro-street.. and the 1/200 arizona, but i haven't done more than look at her in the last couple years.

 just depends on my mood of what to fiddle with. today a plane, tomorrow a car.

Wanna know what I'm working on and can't seem to finish? And my attitude about it? Well, then, please see below.....

I start 'em and build 'em 'cause they're what grabs my attention at the time. I know I need to put a limit on how many I have going at one time, but they seem to be my drug of choice.

Sometimes I'll build 8 aircraft if they are 1/72 scale and simular era or type. I do that with cars/race cars too. With the cars I call it DoubleDo like a 1970 Challenger and a 2009 Challenger etc.

Two or three but also a shelf of doom.

 

The Shelf of Doom are the unbuilt kits you gave up on (maybe till a later undetermined date) or that have been setting on the shelf and forgotten.

Just found this thread. I've had as much as 5 builds going on but I try to limit things from 1 to 3 the most otherwise my man cave gets very messy. That is the only complaint I get from my wife about the hobby. Once in a while she will remind me to tidy up the mancave.

And as previously mentioned, over comittment in GBs is very easy to do so I keep them at a max of 3 at a time.

Define working on?  When I get to a point that I have to wait for any extended time, I get another kit out and start prepping. Usually gluing all the motor parts together that can be painted the same color and prepping the bodies.  Actually kits I am working on right now are 2 Chargers, '69 & '71, C7R Vette (just needs a few touch ups), '59 Bel Air (using this one to learn how to hinge doors and trunk) a 71 Cuda that I need to do some repairs on and a Revelle LaFerrari.  Also I have a motor from an old kit that I am using to practice wiring and plumbing on.  I keep saying I am going to finish 1 and then go on to the next but I get stuck or frustrated and move to something else.  It's a disease.

upwards of 3 dozen plus as working on 16 kitbashes using Revell's 1/429 scale Arizona to do the US Navy's OBBs, about 7 Heller 1/400 T47 destroyers in various configurations, about 6 Airfix 1/600 cruisers, 4 Revell 1/300 scale Forrest Sherman class in different configurations & about 9 1/350 Spruance destroyerd & Tico cruisers in different configurations.

Basically four; I like to build kits that are related in theme.

I'm actively finishing two 1/72 1950's US navy fighters, an F9F Blue Angels Cougar, and an F4D Skyray.

I'm about ready to decal those two, then start airbrushing two Revell 1/144 50's British fighters that used the same  camo scheme, a Hawker Hunter and an  EE Lightning. Those were two kits previously assembled, then shelved when my wife asked me to build up a kit of a Maserati 3500GT for her.

You folks that have more than 3 going on at the same time,

That just seems increadible to me.  

I have about 170 that have been started and then shelved for one reason or another. Some will definitely be revisited, some are terminal, others are just awaiting renewed interest. The benefit of having an extensive, varied stash is the ability to move to something else whenever a block threatens or you just don't feel like doing that step at the time. I still celebrate whenever I complete one, but I have any problem sidestepping one kit and moving to another.

One, and the answer is one less than two, yet one more than zero. It is never three, unless it is two less. Anything more than that and I lose parts..

One at a time.  I can't concentrate on more than one kit due to my injury.  At times I can't even concentrate on the one kit I'm working on!  LOL!

I am addicted to group builds, and at present, trying to build three at the same time.  I then have two sailing ship models on the side line that may be in progress into the next decade, so I guess that makes five.  If it counts, there are always one or two in the shop for repairs due to a visit from Catzilla.

Lose has to be the most misspelled word in the world.  Sorry, hate to be that guy.  Just one of my pet peeves is people spelling lose l-o-o-s-e.
