Additionally, on a more off hand note, I also would love to see something like a cut-away view of a ship's gun or missile launcher and/or maybe even a ship's engine room, because it would be interesting to see the complexity of those systems, but that would probably be asking alot.Stick out tongue

Well, you could look for those old Revell sub kits. They made a cut away hull Type VII U-Boat, and a Polaris Missile sub w/interior long ago. I think some of the new large scale U-Boat kits such as the one by Trumpeter also have interiors, but are not cut away type displays.

Sort of like those visible kits of yesteryear like V-8 engine, Apollo Capsule, or Phantom Mustang, that are no longer in vogue for modelers. Aside from a couple new tool AFV club tank kits.

Hi,

Modt planes that I have been interested seem to exist in some scale or another, so I'm happy there.  As for ships, lately I've been snapping up any merchant vessels I can find, and as long as I can find a representative type vessel (like a typical containership, Roll On Roll Off vessel, passenger ship or general cargo ship) I'm happy, I'm not really looking for any specific individual ship.

Though, when it comes to cars, I wouldn't mind having an example of some of the real cars I've owned.  Moebious reccently put out a 2-door 1965 Plymouth Belvedere that is close enough to the 4-door that I had to make me happy and I also have a model of the European Spec Fiat 500 that is close enough to the US spec one that I owned, but I wouldn't mind also seeing a 1978(?) Ford Fiesta, a 1988 Mazda 323, a 1993 Plymouth Sundance, a 2000 Mazda Protege, a 2001 Hyundai Accent Hatchback, a 2005(?) Toyota Matrix, a 2017 Chevy Spark, or a 1951 Buick Special.

I once had a chance to pick up a resin 1951 Buick special body on ebay but let it slip away and haven't seen another since Sad

Additionally, on a more off hand note, I also would love to see something like a cut-away view of a ship's gun or missile launcher and/or maybe even a ship's engine room, because it would be interesting to see the complexity of those systems, but that would probably be asking alot.Stick out tongue

“Snap up in an instant” all depends upon the price. If too expensive, I’ll pass. I have enough models in my stash to last me the rest of my days and then some.

That being said, if a 1/48 B-26K, F-82G, or AH-1G came out as new tool kits by Revell or Airfix, I’d be most tempted. Anybody else, and they will likely be out of my budget. Same goes for a 1/48 C-119, CG-4A, or A.S. 51.

Trumpeter has come out with some kits that I would love to have, because they fill gaps in my collection. But they are out of my price range unless I find them secondhand.

I would scarf up a pair of RF4-C's in 1/48 and 1/32 in a heartbeat if offered in something close to the detail of the 1/32 Tamiya F4-C/D.  Could be pursuaded to get the RF and E if they ever come out in a nicely detailed 1/24, even though it would be a monster.

Already have Revell's RF, E and G in 1/32, but they are found wanting in a few places.

Greetings.  I was looking at my stash and got to thinking, is there anything I am really missing or would buy in a instant.  Mostly no.  My preferred scale is 1/48th.  My three favorite aircraft subjects are:

  • Vought SB2U (kitted by Accurate Miniatures, Azur, Academy) - great kit
  • Curtiss SB2C (kitted by Pro Modeller, Accurate Miniatures, Revell) - great kit
  • Sukhoi Su-7 (kitted OEZ, Eduard, KP) - Mostly a great kit.  The original OEZ kit, while basic, comes up to par in the Eduard and KP boxings with their aftermarket goodies.

Is your favorite subject missing such that you would need to snap it up in an instant if it was released in your preferred scale?

Cheers
