Greetings, kids!
This is my new modeling workspace. I rent a little commercial space a mile from my house. Since my office is in the house, I like to be able to get away for model building and other artsy-craftsy stuff. Some of those kits on the top shelf have been in my "inventory" for 30-35 years!
I've just set this workspace up in the last week or so. There are a few changes and additions that I'll be making over time. I'm going to take the regulator and gauge off the little compressor, and plumb directly to the regulator/moisture trap at the airbrush holder. The airbrushes all have the Iwata quick-disconnects so I just need one hose. There's one of those fold-up spray booths on the half-shelf that I can just move to the main deck for major painting.
I've got a semi-retired Micro$oft Surface Pro and printer there. I just use my Google Fi data when I'm in the shop. No point paying $50+/month for InTarWebz when I'm only there a few hours a week. (Note to self: order printer ink.)
I've got a bunch of other odds & ends that I want to store on the half-shelf under the bench. I'm also going to add another 4' LED light above the workspace. One can never have too much ammo, fuel, altitude or light.
I'm working on the ancient MPC/Airfix U-2 that I have moved 9 times in 35 years. Gotta let that plastic age properly, like a fine wine, right? I remember paying $4.99 for the kit in 1983-ish. Today, I ordered 1.21 gigabucks of decals and reference materials. Go figure.
Who's next?!
Ciao!
