Ernie your Cutlass is gorgeous. This is actually my third one. Also have the 3P and the 3M and an old one built up as a whiffer as if it was still around in the late 70's

Merry Christmas to you and your family Patrick. Yea I love the old Schwinn balloon and middleweight bikes, they are so elegant. Even though it's a repro, this Roadmaster  rides like a dream, smooth as silk. A limited run of 5,000 were made in the original machinery right here in the US.

I'm presently restoring a 1958 Schwinn Hornet middleweight in black with white trim. Take a peek over in the paint section where I posted a picture of the Hornet's front fender I painted and wet sanded. By the way the last Phantom was made in 59, quite a beautiful bike indeed.

Thanks for your nice comment about my Cutlass. Wish a nice 1/48 or 1/32 one be available. take care, Ernie,

Got more than I expected.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Merry Christmas, Ernie and family -

Man, that bike is such a nicely done replica, and in such mint condition as well. Bet it does feel good to tool around the neighborhood on that jewel.

When I was about thirteen, (1954,) I had a Schwinn that looked quite a lot like that, springer front end, black and white with an obscene amount of chrome, huge whitewall tires. I think it was called a "Phantom."

I've often wondered why Schwinn didn't make it again, since there's such a popularity of the "beach cruiser's" like your's.

Loved seeing your Cutlass again, beautifully well made.

Patrick

Just unwrapped all my loot

Nice haul. TJ you will love the Cutlass, it's nice OOB but try to get the pit detail set. I built mine a while back and can't remember who made the pit PE set. The model builds very easy and the parts fit like a glove.

I did mine in Alclad NMF

Hey thanks Gamera. It's a very well reproduction and man it's a super smooth rider.

The Klingon cruiser looks very interesting and should be fun to build.

Oh wow sorry I missed it but that bike looks awesome PJ!!!

I did order some stuff from HLJ but it won't be here in time for Christmas. So I went by the local hobby shop and this called my name.

Well actually it was more like 'BUY ME YOU PUJWL''....

Our Christmas gift this year won't fit under any tree because it's a road trip and photo mission. We're driving down the Gulf Coast and photographing a couple of lighthouses. Then it's through the Everglades on Alligator Alley, U.S. 41. We'll stop at Clyde Butcher's gallery in Ochopee, FL and then the observation tower in the Everglades before getting to Miami. On Miami Beach we'll be photographing the art deco lifeguard stands. As we push north we'll be stopping at more lighthouses for pictures and at Blowing Rocks Preserve. Then it's back to the old homestead. Should take four or five days. That'll be our Christmas...

Frank,

It's probably out of your way, but the view from the lighthouse at NAS Pensacola is pretty cool. Also heard rumors that there is a pretty nice Naval Aviation museum nearby. Ok, who am I kidding, it's an awesome museum. If it's out of your way for this trip, keep it in the back of your mind. When the Blues move from their winter home back to Pensacola, they do a daily practice that is open to the public and you can watch from the top of the lighthouse.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Not plastic related and way too big to put under the tree and heavy at 62 pounds!

This is my wife's present to me, a 1948 Cleveland Welding Company Roadmaster Luxury Liner reproduction made in limited numbers in 1998. Only 5,000 were made and had a very expensive price tag at the time. The new fad as of a couple of years back is the originality issue with reproductions making them less desirable to serius bike collectors so the prices have dropped down tons. This one looks like it wasn't ridden at all and was stored indoors by the owner for the last 21 years. All it needed was polish and bottom crank service which I did myself. The old bearing grease turned into a sticky goop which was cleaned up and fresh bearing grease added. The head light, tail light and horn all work and man she rides like floating on a cloud thanks to the front double springer and the Persons coiled saddle. I get lots of compliments when I ride around the hood on my Roadmaster. Click on the image for closeups.

Night time riding looking at Christmas decorations, head light and rear light on for safety!

Add another tree in Katy, Texas, that will have a Tamiya P-38 under it.

Other than that, our Christmas was actually spent the full week of Thanksgiving at a little place in Orlando called Walt Disney World.

All joking aside I did buy a few goodies for myself like Criterion's collection of the Showa Godzilla films on Blu-Ray and a couple models like Amusing's ARL 44. I'll post the modeling stuff on Tojo's new stuff thread when I get them. And hoping to upgrade my PC early next year, we'll see how that goes.
