Sounds good.
we're modelers it's what we do
I like that idea too. I also like the idea of no end date.

Hutch6390 I'm all in favour, mate, a very good idea. Could I suggest we call it "Absent Friends", after the traditional toast to those who have gone before?

I like that idea. And make it with no end date.....
If a completed section, not only the subject, but who it's for.

If it's gonna be a Corsair Build, I have a 1/72 Tamiya and a Guillow's stick and tissue rubber powered kit.
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
I have a couple Corsairs to put into the mix, Toshis favorite aircraft was the F4- ?,( all mrks i think). I have an old Revell 32nd that needs love to be brought up to speed, as well as a 32nd Trumpy D model.
Great idea Dodgy.
There used to be a Bernie build every year after he passed. You can name it anything you wanted, as long as it's family friendly. I'd be in with a Phantom if one kind or another.
When my time comes, if anyone feels the need, a Phantom or a BUFF.
Gamera Yeah, I like it!!! Sure I can dig around and find a Corsair to build for Toshi! No sure what any of the other passed members would have liked.

im in as well! As I posted in my thread looking for Toshi news, I lost my dad this summer. I have memories of building my first kit with him ( a '72 scale brown plastic spitfire) and he loved the Corsai...I'll build the revell boxing in memory of both of them!

An excellent notion, indeed.
That's the problem with an 'aging' hobby...the list of lost friends we commemorate just gets longer and longer...

Not stupid at all. I like the idea.
I am just dealing with the loss of our mate Toshi and I began to think about all of the modelers who have been members of this site and have now passed. I have not been a member long, but I have enjoyed many friendships here and been given terrific support. Forget the technical problems that occasionally plauge the site and issues with FSM. For the most part, this is a great and caring community of modelers and those who pass are much missed.
I was wondering if there was support for an annual, or bi-annual, group build to remember those who have passed. Before you all start shouting me down, I know that this should probably have been raised in the Group Builds section, but I thought that it would attract more notice here, besides I do not have the experience, or the knowledge, to run a group build.
I also realise that it could not be named after any one individual, but I was thinking of something along the lines of a 'Passed Members Group Build', where we choose a model of any subject and dedicate the build to someone who has passed away.
Maybe this is a stupid idea. Maybe I'm being too sentimental, but I just thought that it might be a way of honouring our mates and keeping their names alive on the site.
