I'd really like to see an F-86A, F-86E / Canadair Sabre 2 and a Candair Sabre 6 that didn't have you modify the wingtips like Hasegawa does with their F-86F-40 / Sabre 6 offering by cutting off the scale 12" extesions and then gluing on the resin tips in both 48th and 32nd scale.

Fotofrank,

Modelsvit not to your liking?  A Tamiya would be WAY easier to build, but the Modelsvit F-82G looks gorgeous.  Yeah it is still limited run and the parts breakdown is kinda intense for the cockpits.  But they have come a long way from their earlier efforts.

Armornut,

Is the Kinetic Prowler still available?  ODS birds had kill marks?  Were they used in the Wild Weasel role?

I gotta say the kit makers have been doing a great job of satisfying my kit wishes.  One impossible/unlikely kit I would love to have is a 1983 Honda Accord hatchback, my first car and first Japanese car in my family history.  Dad had a 1950s VW Bug, 1955 and 1970 Plymouth Valiants, and a 1978 Oldsmobile Omega.  The Honda's fit and finish was a shocking eye opener compared to the US cars.

Tanker-Builder

Nice List;

Mine would always start with the Victory Ship in 1/350 at least. Big backbone after the Wars. Then there's the older smaller Cruise-Liners ( The ones that still looked like Ships). See Matson Hawaii run ships.

Then there's a new crop of Heavy lift and Technical ships. Also Dredges of all types. Ever seen one ? They go from River craft all the way to Ocean going types. Then there's Mobile Cranes and Yes, Farming Equipment.

↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑

Trying again after the d*** 403 Forbidden Error!!!!

Like TB said too, id like converted MM ships and Victory too.  I dont know enough on the particulars, but late 20's 30's Navy Ships - like the designs and evolution....  Dredge would be nice, mabe a good cable laying ship.  Still trying to fiind a Glencoe Subb Chaser WWI that i have a deck for....

Keep on modeling!

All the best,

William

Wishes are lovely. But 99.99% of the things listed are thoroughly impractical, would never sell, and bankrupt any company that did release them. If you're so sure they're 'licenses to print money', bankroll them yourself. It's a sure thing, right? Pretty easy to wish with other people's money, after all....

Exactly but it's fun,I know I'll never see my dad's ship released, and I don't expect a big company to kit it just for me,but it's fun to talk about what subjects interest us,it's a modeling forum,so I say dream on,post it here and talk about it. Beer

Yeah Robert/Glamdring did post is as a WISH list. Not as a SERIOUS list.

I mean I WISH I had my own tropical island complete with volcano lair and beautiful native women who bring me donuts.

But there's a better chance that a meteor will fall from the clear blue sky, crash though the ceiling, and strike me dead where I am than this is to happen.

Model wise I'd like to see new injection molded 1/35th kits of the Japanese Second World War Type I Ho-Ha and Ho-Ki APCs. There's 1/72nd kits but I want bigger. There are resin 1/35th kits but they seem long out of production. That is I can't find either anywere. If anyone has a lead on the 1/35th resin kits drop me a line please!

Will they sell? Dunno, probably not all that well but I've seen more esoteric and strange stuff kited.

Would your volcano lair also have sharks with lasers attached to their heads? Cool

I was just thinking it would be really cool to have a modernized version of the old Flap Jack model from the 70s.  Maybe have it be USB-powered and blue-tooth controlled.  Hmmm...I still have a partially-built Flap Jack...I might just be able to make this wish a reality.  Hmm

That would be awesome!  I'd also like to see them release a 1/32 A-10C...just so I won't have to suffer through building the Trumpeter A-10A that I have.

Real G, my birds carried HARM. missles, used to destroy Iraqi radar installations, fixed and mobile, mt squadron shot like 23 with several "kills". I remember markings painted on our aircraft however do not remember exactly how it looked.

We were an electronic warfare platform, jamming radar signals and scrambling returns to make strike package " look" like it was somewhere else or not as big.

Yes Kinetic has a good Prowler....and I want to take a better look at the tooling. I seen a kit open once and at a quick glance it appeared to me that the first fand stage of the engines set to far forward in the trunks. I should take a second better look as it is considerably less incorrect than the old Monogram kit.  Yea I could do FOD covers but I rarely saw them on our planes, espeacially during underway operations.

Gamera's secret volcano base WOULD have frickin' sharks with frickin' lasers!  Plus there would be an island-wide sound system to play the Gamera theme every time he takes off in his VTOL Gamera Jet - out of the volcano!

I like the "different" sort of things, like....

- 1/72 Minuteman missile with complete silo and fire control center

- Modern Indy, F1, CAM-AM, IMSA, Baja, DAKAR, NHRA, salt flat racers

- 1/350 or larger commercial ships, ice breakers, tankers, etc.

- 1/18 or 1/16 modern armor kits with complete interior and crew

That's some of them

LOL guys!

Not to derail the thread but my baby pictures...

If you think the laser sharks are intimidating wait till I train the coconut crabs to use chainsaws...

And yeah I'm a little surprised FineMolds hasn't modeled them yet. If anyone does kits I'd expect they'd be the ones to do them.

Let's see, girls carrying donuts.  With your luck they would end up looking like Homer Simpson.

Theose crabs are on Bikini Atol, so they should still be somewhat radioactive, perfect for a Japanese movie.  Wait we already did one about giant crabs on a island.

A model kit wish list thread!  Is it Christmas already? Big Smile

I have a stock list:

A C-46, B-32, B-18, and a Fieseler Fi-167, all in 1/48.

A 1/700 USS Langley (CV-1) and USS Ranger (CV-4).

I'd like to see all of these in styrene.  There are resin kits of the Langley and the Ranger out there, for example, though not currently in print.  I prefer a styrene kit, injection-molded, or even printed.

Sometimes wishes come true.  I used to include the Wasp (CV-7) in 1/700 in my lists, and eventully, Aoshima came out with its kit.  Of course, it's just in the stash, not under construction...

Here's one for a ship:  A 1/350th carrier Wolverine...and maybe the ship it was built from.  That way I could get rid of my 1/700th scale Wolverine.  I have learned that 1/700th is just a bit too small for me and although this has its own PE set and good resin hull, I can't do it.  Right now it's more of a piece of proof that it really did exist than a kit I'll build someday.

Another one that I'd really like to see is a new mold A-20 Havoc.  When ICM put out the A-26 Invader, I was really hoping they'd put out a Havoc at some point.  Now with the invasion, I'm not going to hold out much hope that it will ever happen.

Actually I look more like Dale Gribble...

And radioactive giant coconut crabs with chainsaws- that's even better! Thanks Ikar!

And I'll second a new 1/48th A-20 Havoc! And on that subject I'd actually like see some more 1/48th Japanese bombers too other than just the 'Betty' and 'Sally'.

And stupid wish- an injection molded 1/48th Fisher P-75 Eagle...

There is a resin kit available- it's just that I don't want to spend that much for such a butt-ugly abomination of an aircraft. I think I'd buy a cheaper one to set on a table and get people ask me if I scratchbuilt the thing out of the collection of spare parts I had in the left-over drawer...

That's the great thing about wishes, they are completely free.  This thread is not a demand list to any manufacturer, nor has anybody said as much.  This is the adult equivalent of looking at the Christmas toy catalogs that used to arrive in the mail.

I would point out that there have been countless releases of obscure one-off vehicles over the years from Dragon, Tamiya, Trumpeter, Meng, Takom, etc.  This has obviously not bankrupted them as they continue to do so.   The subjects are obviously intriguing someone who is in turn buying them.

Exactly, Glamdring!  Like I noted in my post above, a 1/700 scale kit of the Wasp was one of my items on these wish lists for years.  And then Aoshima brings out that very subject.  I don't say that there's a correlation, but it's like you say, these are wish lists.  Sometimes wishes do come true.

If anyone, Clear Prop! or Modelsvit are my votes for most likely to produce an injection kit of the P-75.  Heh heh, or Trumpeter/Hobby Boss will do it, but they will mix-n-match details even more than the real thing!  Stick out tongue

I seem to recall the USAFM has one in their collection.

A new 1/48 B-26 Marauder, with decals for Flak Bait.  I think the only offering is the old Monogram, and right now people are asking an insane amount for them, and I highly doubt the decals are even usable.  They are listed on evil bay for 75 bucks and up.  Just can't bring myself to pay that much.

Yeah, the B-26 is much more sexy than a lot of other medium bombers.  And Flak Bait is a strong sell to me.  Sadly, a new tool kit would probably cost $75 or more.  But at least it would hopefully offer a better fit.

YES!!!  I totally agree with you Keyda81 about the need for a newly tooled 1/48 B-26 Marauder kit.  ICM  has done the A-26 Invader & Accurate Minitatures did the B-25 so it's the Marauder's & Havoc's turn.  I presently have the B-26 Monogram and an ESCI kit in the stash but they both require a ton of work.  This important bomber needs to be recognized and kitted again.
