A new B-26 in 1/48, that includes parts to make both the early version and the later ones, so, include the short wings, the different cowl, tail gunner configuration, vertical stabilizer, etc.  Is it impractical, and likely to be expensive and probably not recoup the costs?  Maybe.  But we can wish.

Baron,

The early and late B-26 had differing wing incidence as well as span, so a separate fuselage center section would be the minimum to properly accommodate all versions.  Did the fin height also change?  I might just be confused.

I can imagine people might want an early Midway or an RAF version, as these are not availble in 1/48.

I have been waiting for years for a decent Ford TriMotor kit in 1:72 scale.  The only two kits I know of are the Airfix kit and the Monogram kit.  The Monogram kit is not 1:72 scale and resin 1:72 engines look funny on it.  The Airfix kit has engine mounting issues- the struts provided do not mount the engines at the right angle, and it is so hard to alter the struts- sort of like cutting back on legs of a stool!

Thanks, G!  That the incidence was changed, I did not know.

For those who want to build a Midway B-26, like me, there are two resin conversion kits that I know of, one from Mike West's Lone Star Models, and another from Wilde Sau Resin.  I have the Wilde Sau kit.  I thought it included a vertical stab, but I may be misremembering that particular detail.

I found 3 view drawings to the H-43.  It does not look to complicated to do a scratch build, so that has gone on my project list.

Also, for kits I am longing for, I'd like to see a good 1:72 Ford Trimotor.  The Monogram is not quite 72 scale, and resin engines do not look right with it.  The airfix version has trouble with the struts that hold the two outboard engines.  Trying to get them trimmed right was like leveling the legs of a stool, and I could never get the engines pointed straight ahead.

Maybe it's because the Trumpeter 1/32 A-6E Intruder is on my bench, along with a parallel build of Revell's 1/48 Intruder (which, by the way, is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get the clear sprue for!), and I know there is a HobbyBoss kit and a Kinetic kit....but I'd like to see Tamiya put out an intruder in 1/48 scale.  I think it would tie in perfectly with their Tomcat and recently released Phantom!

Fun thread with some great suggestions. For what it's worth, here's mine. In 35th, lots more allied military figures from 1939/40. More British soft skins, particularly the Morris line of vehicles. In 1/48 injection molded, the Lockheed Electra, Ford Tri Motor, Boeing 247, Junkers Ju W33 and Ju 86.

Plus........ an entire re-release of the Aurora catalogue, in particular their figures.

Cheers

Unfortunately it's not the kit with the Flak Bait decals.  I built it once, but my skills have far improved since then, and I would like to do it justice.

i thought about trying it with the weird "box scale" or whatever it is (1/77, I think....) kit from Revell, but I started that thing on my return to the hobby, so I butchered that thing.  Bad....lol
