Holy crap dude, you have a shelf with your stash on it sagging under the weight!!!! That is pretty cool!! You have plenty of room to store.....I mean work in!! I saw the Bass glass too!!! I know what juice you really survive on!!! LOL

Someday, like maybe July, I'll be able to post some pics. Just moved into a 4 bedroom house on base, didn't even get all the mover's boxes out before I was packing my seabag for sunny Afghanistan. So all my models, built and unbuilt, along with my supplies are still sitting in the "office." I need to find a workbench/table to match the one my wife has for her scrapbooking and then I'll have all the room I need to loes myself in a pile of plastic!

But I hate clutter, bit of a pet hate really.

The guys at work are always on at me for how tidy my work area is, and hate me cause I'm the supervisor, therefore I make them clean their bays as well

Gotta love the power

Seriously though, the bench I'm designing atm will be around 7 feet long, with a special area for the ab and compressor+tank, then areas for everything else, glue, brushes, oils, etc.

Kind of like the Taj Mahal of model benches.
And thanks to work, I'm even working on having a motorised paint rack installed into it.

Make it once, and make it well.

Clutter is a state of mind ... what some people call clutter I call "Everything Within Arm's Reach". Besides, when you have more room that's just more room for clutter. My workbench is "U" shaped (there's a pic up above somewhere) and stretched out would probably be about 40 feet long. I think I have an area about 4' long that isn't covered with junk. More room, more clutter; more clutter, more fun!

I moved to a new house over the weekend so I will get pics up as soon as I get it all deranged I have about a 12x15 spare bedroom with linolium flooring that Is being set up as my new shop... It will be shared with my computer as before but the have some breathing room now. I can't wait to get rollin on a kit...

Before I moved to Arizona, I had a piece of plywood placed on a couple of large plastic flower pots; this plywood was a combination coffee table/dining table/typewriter table. When I wanted to model, I would simply throw an old soil amendment advertising poster face down on it and call it a "workbench." It worked OK but for a long time, my modeling tools were kept in a chest of drawers several feet away to keep the tools away from the cat. (Ultimately, I found a decent tackle box so I could actually store the tools on my workbench without worrying about the cat getting into them.)

When I moved, the guy who was my roommate gave me a three-level piece of furniture that made a great storage cabinet. I simply bolted my old plywood to this furniture and moved the tools into a different chest of drawers, then turned the chest of drawers so that they're right within reach. Now I've got a good amount of storage space but I still need to do some fine-tuning, especially now that my spares box is getting too full. Maybe I'll have to bring the fishing tackle box back out of storage.

Boy I need space like you guys Dave and Tag_LK.

This is in my basement. And I have practically al lthe tools i would ever need for modeling and many more things.




Notice the MONSTER B-52 hangin in 2nd pic. It is a work in progress. And coming along well.

Here are some pics of my work area. I have installed some heaters recently so it is now an all year workshop.







At the other side of the shed I have a TV, PC, Music centre and the essential mini-fridge. It is a home from home and very peaceful.

Take a look at the scratchbuilt LAV-25 on the cover of the May FSM (as well as the accompanying article about it). It's either inspirational, humbling, or just makes me feel completely inadequate. In fact, I think it does all three.

I'm gonna have to see about getting some pictures of my workstation. You won't believe what a mess it is! Makes all your 'messy' workspaces look like operating tables!
