Murray and Music City,

I see you guys are cast into the basement as well.

Bench (soon to be expanded) and part of the stash:

And more of the stash

I have another stash in my closet and my son's closet as well. I'm using the "multiple location" technique of storage this way the wife doesn't have an idea of exactly how many kits I have

Always glad to see the next generation of modeler coming along. That is how I modeled back in the day - I too was a closet modeler and drove my mother nuts with it and guess what else ... it all started in Montana for me also. Keep it up Thomas and welcome to the community - we have plenty of virtual big sky here.

No worse than standing on that concrete floor Smile [:)] Really, it doesn't bother me much. I spent so many years on drafting boards (before the days of computer aided drafting / design!) that I don't feel right doing close up work unless I sit up high. I keep saying I'm going to get a bar stool and put down there but never do it. That old 3-legged piece of junk is just about gone though (there is another one elsewhere in the basement but it's in even worse shape!), so I'll probably get something better soon.

Here's mine, but it gets shared by a lot of other chores besides modeling.

Joe,

Like what I do when I use enamel or lacquer paints. Need to go out in the garage. But acrylic paints are ok inside the house.

Oh well, these are the pains of not having a separate hobby room.

look at it this way john, i have to go from one floor to another to paint. my wife hates the fumes so i paint in the basement but do most of the work in the living room.

This is a good post. Ifn my computer worked with my camera i would post pics. Id like to show off my placeWink [;)] Sure its spacius, but its a hassle. I live out in the country and we have a work shop. Basically its a 3 car garage that has 1 space that is covered in carpet and has cabinets and a sink. So that part is my model room. I have one space on the counter where i build, decal, paint etc. Another space acoupe yards away where i keep built models. And another space where i do diorama bases and plaster/celluclay.
And the last place i have is in another room, my airbrush station.

All of the space may sound good, but i hate it, If i want to airbrush my model, I have to carry the model, the paint and the solvent into another room. SOme day i'd like to have a worshop like Foster7155. That's a nice one.

Here's a couple of my work bench. There's bit more 'stuff' on it now, but the general view is pretty much the same. No spray booth yet... still working on that...

Okay Dwight, repeat with me.........Hello, (enter your name here), and I'm a wingy-thingyaholic. It's a simple process, really it is, Dwight. Just give in and face the facts!!!! Shy [8)]
Now back to the subject at hand.
I don't own a digital camera and my scanner went to the happy scanning grounds in the sky. But, my bench is 4'x4' with a perforated board at the back for all the things that need to hang. I have 3 of those boxes that have all the drawers in them for all of my spare parts.
I've noticed one very disturbing thing in the pics that I have been able to see (Matt, yours came up as the dreaded red x's). I have 4 tackle boxes. Guys C'MON!!!! They're for fishing!!!!! Confused [%-)] Shock [:O] Laugh [(-D] And Woody? Your's is way too organised. You are a disturbed man. Laugh [(-D]

OK here is my modeling corner. Not much clutterat this time. Most the stuff are stored inside those drawers and cabinets. Have to keep it clean always because it is in the dining area.Wink [;)]

Beside it is my model case which holds some tools, paints and stuff in two drawers at the bottom.

And then there's the models that I kept...(others I gave away)

And some more...Hmmm. Why are there wingy thingies in there?Big Smile [:D] Could be the wrong show case. He-he-he.

And my realiable airbrush and compressor plus a kit/dio in progress...actually a wingy-thingy special...an 88mm Anti-Aircraft GunLaugh [(-D]

Well...there it is.Smile [:)]

The carpet is in the process of being replaced with a hardwood floor - got tired of dealing with the carpet monster.

And if you turn around 180 degrees you can see the stash.

Looking good guys, nice and used, like I like 'em!!! Well, except for poor Quincy.....I feel for ya!!! Foster, love the Baby Monitor!!! I also like the pegboard, I'm definately going to go pick one of those up!!! Ryan, yours isn't showing up.....I tried to go to the pic directly, but the page is gone.....

Tango 1 I bought the fan from www.historicaviation.com they also have a couple of Reno Air racers also. The propeller spins up (as the ceiling fan), and there is a nose cone that fits on there, with the correct light bulb, but I just ditched it for a nice new "Natural light bulb".

Joe, nice tackle box!!! Do you and your children have their own, or do you guys have to share. I have found that it is easy to share with other guys, but women always need their own!!! LOL

She who rules the roost has informed me the only way my modeling area will be photoed and put here is if it receives a complete cleaning. As the immortal Homer S. would say - "D oh!"

I finished my hobby room between builds in February. Here is a picture when it was newly completed. Now the shelves are overflowing and I'm already looking at adding additional storage space.
