it's funny , ive been modelling since i was about 5 and put my first Aurora dino kit together (with my moms help ) as i moved on i ran the gamit of kits ,armor , aircraft , cars , even the little metal dragon stuff , but now ive found myself doing some of the most challenging modelling of my life , but i find when i post in forums like this one , guys like me are not really taking very seriously , i would like to know why ???
just to give you an idea ,until recently , there were no commercialy avalible kits in 1/6 , some small company's and groups were making some vehicles , but they were quite $$$$$ and not always the best looking pieces .
now as the hobby grows , a large number of cottage business are popping up , making some amazing product , much is cast in resin , an art all on its own , and you talk about detail , in 1/6 scale you can have more detail then you can imagine , allot of guys scratchbuild the majority of there vehicles , thats serious modelling , but since it's associated with G.Ijoe sized action figures , the wonderful work going on out there gets vastly overlooked , i feel its too bad , it's a great hobby ,with a good fellowship of collectors who get together and assemble huge dioramas , just for fun !
sorry for the rant , im just tired of being labeled a dolly man !
