Two of the three that I've finished since I've joined were in a GB. I should have finished another, but circumstances arose. I really enjoy the comradery, but sometimes there is a bit of pressure to finish, which is both good and bad.

I just got into my first group build because the topic interested me, feel free to join or not to join, but whatever you do the idea is to have fun, learn from others and help where you can.

I just squirted my milkshake out of my nose. Laugh [(-D] Yah, I agree, much too broad of a GB, but as long as it sparks interest I guess. I get caught up in them also and out of 30 in my GB only 6-8 finished. I'm one who didn't. Disapprove [V]

I think a lot of times some people get excited over the whole GB idea and think "I'll start one!!", I've recently seen about 15 rise up and fall down the same week like that and usually they were the broad type GB's...

As for me I just ignore them... like I said usually they drop off the first page rather quickly so they don't get in the way too much... (except when the creator starts bumping it himself and asking why no one has joined Wink [;)])

I figure a little time on the forum and they'll get their wings and think of a better subject the next time they create one...

I think that these Gb's are not necessary and should be stopped because it voids the main idea of a group build, people sharing advice on a similair topic. Thats hard to do when a GB is covering every German armored vehicle in WW2 or even worse every vehicle in WW2. Sorry just needed to vent my frustration but lets narrow down the topics to what they used to be.

I feel the same way as you. Especially with they say, something like, blabla Group build, Starts now, ends whenever!Angry [:(!]WTF! and then they get like 2 people to join. Ohwell, nothing I can do about it.

I agree with Dave. In fact my posting of a Group Build idea, initially very broad, caused responses that got it narrowed down. Best option we have is to "police" ourselves, and if it does not meet your own standard, then don't participate.

These broad brush group builds do not or should not in any way hamper your own enjoyment of the hobby or this site.

Everyone has their own idea of what constitutes a good GB. Some people are just looking for like minded individuals who share an interest and not so much a specific build per se. I say if they attract other participants then what the heck, who are we to stop them?

i share the similar feelings. nonetheless, im not involved with those GB's, so couldn't really respond for them or to them, as i don't know how they're set up
