Well, I was just saying to make you feel better, I didn't really mean it Tongue [:P] If your wife reads it and figures out how smart (Laugh [(-D]) you are, she will most definetly be expecting more out of you, so that might not be such a hot idea!

My GM order came today, so 1 week and completely full.  I am mildly impressed and this redeems them, a little, in my eyes.

Glad to hear it Glamdring. The last order I put in went pretty smooth, so I thought maybe it was just my luck on that first one, this one seems like it might be a problem? Who knows, the seem kinda hit and miss. I wish hobbylinc had all the stuff GMW does. I can order from them, wait maybe 4 days, get an email saying it was shipped, and then 2-3 days later get my order. I have never had a problem with them not having something in stock or having them cancel certain items in my order? Oh well, I guess I am just beating a dead horse?

My all time favorite supplier is ehobbies.com. Being an east coaster I have been very satisfied with their delivery time (from California). They also have a great service department and provide you with prompt emails to let you know your shipment is on the way. Also, at Christmas I ordered several models from them at one time. Several were on back-order and they shipped them as soon as they came in and did not charge me until they were shipped. Another good supplier is Oak Ridge Hobbies; however, I am very partial to ehobbies.

I'm possibly going to open an old wound here...

I found a few hard to get old models that I'm interested in but at Great Models Webstore. There was a discrepancy between the photo and typed word discription (two different years) on a few models. So I emailed them asking if they could tell me which year car the model actually was. I also emailed them my wish list to confirm that the models were in stock and I was ready to place my order. That was over a week ago.

Would calling them get answers to my questions? Wish I could find some of these models elsewhere. Seems to me they should have responded by now, it's not like I was window shopping or only ordering one or two kits.

I have only emailed them once, but they got back to me in a couple days. If I were in your shoes and didn't hear from them by tomorrow, I would probably call or send them an email letting them know that you were taking your business elsewhere, but I'm just a Censored [censored] like that Big Smile [:D]

I don't think that phases them, I said the same thing after trying to get them to honor their "price match a competitor" and they just gave me the run around always saying they needed more info.  One would think a link, directions on searching for the model there if the link didn't work, the competitors email and phone number, and all the necessary product #s/GW's stock number would be enough.  Yet still they needed more info.  I finally gave up and bought the model off Ebay.....

Maybe I'll try calling them tomorrow and I'll see what their attitude is like. Whether they help me or give me a run around.

Guess I could do without those couple of hard to find kits. Sad [:(]

I gotta give a shout to Sprue Bros. - these folks seem to really understand the concept of customer service. Since getting back into the hobby I have been trying all of the major online players to see how they stack up. For me, Sprue Bros. has been the best of the bunch, with Squadron coming in second. Sprue always seems to have what I'm looking for and they beat everybody on turn around time. My last order was placed on 29 May (a holiday) and arrived today. Four days start to finish, now that's service. Granted their search function is a bit clunky, but I can live with that.

you've all seen the fedex commercial with the dino's, right ? well, i've been ordering from squadron mail order since almost that long (1970's ) not always the fastest, or most available, but after all these years, always the most consistent. and that's saying a lot when the nearest hobby shop is 210 miles away.

I've dealt with Squadron for the past few years & never had any problem with them. They've given me prompt service & received my orders ina timely fashionSmile [:)] IF I ordered by phone with a C.C. I had the order in 3-4 days. IF I sent in a M.O. the order usually in in 10 days. Not bad from Tx to Calif.
