I asked my wife about this, can't really use her point of view since
she's helping me with a hobby shop business, but she asked the girls at
work.
At first most of the wives said - "H_LL no, my husband ain't spending tons of money on toys".
A small few didn't have much of a problem as long as the expenses didn't
interfere with the household money (paying bills, buying food, etc...)
My wife then asked those hard nosed wives - "Your husband goes hunting
doesn't he? What if he wanted to stay home with you and build models
instead or even just add building models to his to-do-list? How much
does it cost for your husband to go hunting? How many hours is he gone
hiding in the woods?"
Some of the women thought about it and said that would make more sense
than hunting. That their husbands spends tons of money on guns, ammo,
outfits, licenses & tags, hunting trips, etc... and sometimes
doesn't even get their limit.
One or two stuck to their guns and said - "My husband better go out and
bring me home my venison! If he ain't hunting, he better be working!"
WOW
I'm so glad that I have my wife.
She knows someone and gets red deer venison for free, I don't care much for wild white tail.
I get pretty much what I want when we can afford it without too many
questions asked other than - "Are you sure this is the one you want?"
