I mostly listen to Rammstein, Dire Straits, The Police, and some times a little Beethoven. Also I will listen to movie scores from western movies occasionally.

Personally, I find my taste in music depends alot on what subject I'm modeling. For instance:

Armor Modeling calls for Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Metallica, Queensryche, Ratt, Def Leppard, Dokken, Van Halen, Pillar, Kutless

Aircraft Modeling calls for Bon Jovi, John Tesh, Hooked on Classics, Billy Joel, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd.

Nascar Modeling claims Staind, 3 Doors Down, Goo Goo Dolls, Petra, Kiss, Keith Urban

Big Rig Modeling allows Tim McGraw, Jerry Reed, CW McCall, Red Sovine, Montgomery Gentry, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, and just about any other country artist you can think of.

Amazing how the modeling subject can dictate the taste in music, huh? I also have my police scanner on so I can hear what's going on in the community.

As a Double Bassist, I listen to Saint-Saens, Rachmanninoff, a little Mozart, some Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dragonetti, Vanhal, Koussevitsky and a whole lot of other people you've probably never heard of. But I've also got to have a little bit of Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington.

I'm sitting here cutting flaps from a B-17 wing and jamming to TRIUMPH Progressions Of Power. I'm also getting hungry for a Canadian Bacon pizza with jalapenosDinner [dinner]. What's more Canadian than pizza, Shania Twain, Neil Young and ice-fishing? A Maple Leaf Pizza!!!Clown [:o)] That was bad, I'll admit.

When modelling or reading I like listening to film scores. Starting with my favorite "Victory At Sea". I put on new stuff like "Fly Boys" or the "Band of Brothers" plus older stuff like "Captain Blood". When building a WWII fighter or Bomber I put on a 4CD collection of Big Band hits. What ever suits my fancy at the time. Like making the "Memphis Belle" and listening to the film score at the same time?

depends on what i'm modeling. if i am doing soviet armor (kv-1c i just finished today) or eastern front stuff i listen to ENEMY AT THE GATES, or russian classical music or wagner. western front and desert is THE GREAT ESCAPE, A BRIDGE TO FAR, BAND OF BROTHERS, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, 2 collections of war movie scores, or beethoven and wagner.

ship models will be classical, like LA MER or other symphonies about the sea or VICTORY AT SEA, MASTER AND COMMANDER, TORA, TORA, TORA, MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA, DAS BOOT, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, TALL SHIPS SUITE, SEA SHANTIES.

for aeroplanes it's HIGH ROAD TO CHINA, THE BLUE MAX, BATTLE OF BRITAIN

Herb Alpert! My Papa came home from Viet Nam with a stack of his albums. All the C130 pilots loved it. I was just a little guy but I still remember the parties they had. Myself, Collective Soul. When it´s a country thang, Jason Boland.

nice topic Smile [:)]

lets see... or should I say lets hear Smile [:)]

I do like all kind of good music. All depends on the mood of the day. Usually when I need a concentration I set for classical music - mostly Chopin or Bethoven but Mahler or Mussorgski will od it too. I also like jazz, mostly Makowicz. Sometimes I like to set it for Bon Jovi or Deep Purple or even Black Sabath Big Smile [:D] - but very rarely - and mostly while driving ... fastBig Smile [:D] and alone. I try to set volume just above the low level, so I can hear all the tones but it is not taking too much of my attention - just a background music. I am doing modeling as a relax, so music has to match it

I like to be relaxed when I'm modeling and will usually listen to Classical, specifically Baroque.  Sometimes I like to play a little Rush or something like the Bladerunner soundtrack.
