Posted by cassibill on Monday, November 3, 2003 10:02 AM
I was curious has the rest of the American contingent gotten there DEC. issue since I figure mine should've arrived over a week ago and hasn't and also have you ever gotten a fellow modeller's copy by mistake.( I once had someone else's stuck to the back of mine by the mailing label)

Maybe with the first being a SAT. the timetable is off but my copy arrives almost like clockwork on the last SAT of the month. This is kinda nice since I'm in college and didn't want to change delivery but I still go home every weekend
The errant copy belonged to a neighbor a couple roads over.

Still waiting on mine. I'll let you know when it arrives. I've never gotten another member's copy in error, though.

I picked mine up at Barnes & Nobles Sat. I don't subscribe to magazines anymore because they arrive looking like a gorilla has been using them for bedding! I never miss an issue though and I can get a cup of Starbucks to go with it!Wink [;)]

I usually receive mine between the 5th and 10th of the month. Oh well. On the positive side I still get it. Just a little impatient this month. Had Knee Surgery couple days ago and would really like to have it.

When I see the latest copy on the shelves, I count ten to eleven days and then I receive my copy in the mail. I don't know why it takes so long.

I got mine over the weekend. At the moment, I'm so far behind in my reading, it doesn't matter if it comes late.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

I got mine today as well, just at about the normal time frame. I don't worry about when I get it, just so long as I do.

I stopped subscribing several months ago at renewal time when I figured out it was cheaper to buy off the newsstand rather than pay the premuim as well as the exchange for Canadaian orders. Now I can browse the issues and cherry pick the ones I want to take home.

Haven't yet seen the December copy - I usually get them a little after the rest of the world - seems the post to Australia goes via slow steam packet, camel, then water buffalo, then is processed by a dyslexic grade school drop out.
I do eventually get the mag, though........

Wow I'm special Cool [8D]then that I get mine earlyTongue [:P]. I'm picking up a couple tickets to Best Little Whore House in Texas and have to call home anyway maybe I'll find out if it came.

Yeah rossjr FSM is great for trips. I read mine on the 2hr drive back up to campus. It and crossstich is the only thing I can do in the car and not get sick, other than sleeping.

I've only seen FSM on the store shelves once, 4-99, cause I bought it and subscribed starting 7-99. It was either Walmart or Jaycee's grocery. Never seen it since though Walmart does carry Model Railroader. Odd.

Got it yesterday,& did you read the Tips section where the guy from Tenn. uses Kit-Kat foil in place of BMF? No adhesive needed! Peel off the wax paper & apply to model, what could be easier,or more delicious? As a new modeler,FSM delivers more than it costs.

My only gripe is that the stores seem to get their issues before US the subscribers. Disapprove [V] This seems wrong. We subscribers are considered the loyal customers, but the magazine is catered to the casual cherry pickers. Disapprove [V]Angry [:(!] I love the magazine and wouldn't drop it over something like this, but I know from being in the newspaper business, that you treat your best customers like kings. This is how you get happy repeat customers. My 2 cents [2c]

If the cherry picker comment was meant for me, fair enough & no problem. Funny but I feel no disloyalty to the magazine for cancelling. I felt I was being overcharged by paying in US funds and then an added premium on top. Simply put, up here the cover price is cheaper off the rack.

Sorry Bruce, my comment wasn't directed to you. Oops [oops] I guess my point is the people that pay for a suscription expect a little more besides the delivery to the mailbox. I think of it as a commitment of sorts. A show of loyalty if you will. I guess I expect a little more. It kinda frustrates me to see the magazine in the store a week or so before I get mine mine in the mail. I see your point, living in Canada and all. I meant no disregard to the casual buyer of the mag. Ashamed [*^_^*] I used to do it with MMIR, since they ran at about $10 a copy.
