Tamiya Zero

I've been slowly working my way through a box of 40 Revell and Airfix kits from the 50s and 60s, purchased off CraigsList for the sum of $10. It finally occurred to me — why am I suffering like this? I could just buy something decent from the hobby shop! Which I did: a brand-new re-issue of a 1/48 scale Tamiya Zero. Not cutting edge, but the fit and engineering were superb.

The kit does show its age with some weird toy-like features: elaborate design to ensure that the propellor spins nicely, and a little dance troupe of identical twins all furiously waving farewell.
