Funny, I just heard them on the radio the other day down at NASNI. We were sorry to see them leave Mugu. They gave the place a little helo-life, which it doesn't have much of now. I heard they were supposed to stand down, but I guess they're still around for now.

Jon,

I don't think the x-wing is what I remember. It was a Huey (B model?) with what appeared to be a standard rotor system. In place of the cabin doors there were stub wings with small turbojets (?). It was in the orange and white test livery of the late 60's early 70's. I don't have the computer time to search much here but I will find it after I get home.

Now a double digit midget!!

Here's a shot of the X Wing from the side, minus its main rotor. Not sure about any Hueys configured this way. Anyone know?
