Frank,

This is cool indeed, but please let Mr Rutledge know that the "Guns a go go" skull was carried by Easy Money, VC Birth Control and Cost of Living too.  It may also have been carried by Stump Jumper.

Perhaps Mr Rutledge's aircraft could wear the go go skull on the forward pylon (like the others) and be named Cost of Living II in honor of the 8 crewmembers who perished in the May 1967 crash of Cost of Living?

Thanks

Wilson Hubbell, Direct Support Maintenance Mechanic: Easy Money, Birth Control & Cost of Living   (A Co, 15th Tranportation Corp Bn., 1st Air Cavalry Division - 1966-67)

Howdy,

That's absolutely superb news there Frank!! :-)  Sounds like an almost perfect example of synergy, the old Flaming Skull flash being carried into action by the courageous and brilliantly skilled pilots of  the new 160th SOAR.

Very good news indeed, thx for sharing.

Tread.

Frank,

Great news!  Nice to see that some "traditions" and "ideas" never go completely out of style.  I wonder what armament systems they will employ.

Great news.  Hope they keep going for a good long time.  A great way to honor the unit and its members.  Congrats.

Rebirth of "Guns A Go-Go"!!!

Goodmorning Chinook fans... Smile [:)]

I am honored beyond words to make this announcement, Gentlemen; "Guns A Go-Go" is COMING BACK!!!

___________________________________________________________________________

Last week, three of the original Guns A Go-Go members recieved an email from the Commander of the new Unit being formed within the 4/160th SOAR(A), asking for permission to once again carry the Flaming Skull into battle!

--

Evil [}:)]They will be using the new "MH-47F" Chinook.

He included: "All of our pilots have unanimously voted to adopt "GoGo 41" as our callsign as well as the "Easy Money" skull as our patch.".... CW2 Michael Rutledge.

When I first learned of their plans, they were thinking about adopting a similar logo, so I had submitted a couple of rough sketches for ideas, but Mr. Rutledge wrote this morning: "Frank,  Thanks for the artwork ideas. If given permission, we'd actually like to adopt the original design with no changes. However, we are looking at the possibility of coming up with a secondary design to represent the modern capabilities of the MH-47. We'll keep you posted!"

Mr. Rutledge has made plans to attend our Reunion in May, to get to meet the original Go-Go Vets and to make the official announcement to the group!

Will post photos when they're available Big Smile [:D]

Frank
