Is it just me, or does this look like a really good way to FUBAR your drivetrain?

Can't be too good for the skids or structural supports as well.

I would be pretty steamed if I were the owner. That kind of stuff, in close proximity to spectators, is how tragic "accidents" happen. Imagine pulling that in a military machine and having the boss see you (or the video). Only helicopter you're gonna see in the future is in pictures! Notice the "porpoise"action after impact. That doesn't look like full control to me. What are folks thinking of when they do that stuff?

After looking at the video a few more times I'm convinced that that doofus didn't have control at "touchdown". The "touchdown" does not look like it was planned; he almost crashed! Pull his ticket before he kills someone.

I noticed he went back down and never came back up.  What was the ending result on the other side? Is there a part 2?  Hmmmm!?

Agreed to all the above.

holy c*$P!!!!

I noticed the tailboom dipped at least six inches and continued to bobble as he recovered some altitude (and his breath!).

I bet the intercostals cracked on that one!!!! and Im up for split crosstubes, looks like the tailskid did its job on this one! ......wont even get into powertrain issues.

Kinda shows how tough the little Jetrangers are.....bet this guy was used to horsing around in Boelkows!  Aint the same!!!

Agree with all previous input....

.... it appears he has passengers on board also?  Shock [:O]

Giving rides at the airshow no doubt, and maybe showing off for the girl sitting beside him... Blindfold [X-)] ...and the spectators don't seem at all disturbed about it!!     (wonder how they reacted when the black smoke started billowing up behind those trees?)

If the pilot survived, someone in authority should have torn his rotarywing license into pieces and kicked his a-double-s right there on the spot!!  (and if the families of those passengers had anything to do with it, I'd say that's exactly what he got!)

Take care,

Frank

FUBARed run on?

That is why a -60 has a crash axe within easy reach of the crewchief, it is useful in keeping pilots like that from getting back behind the controls.

This was posted about a year ago on one of the radio control heli sites. From what I remember, he did quite a bit of damage. No injuries. There were passengers on board. I think he was actually overloaded and when he went to pull out of the stall turn, he couldn't. He narrowly missed killing a lot of people with that stunt.

Many people were VERY lucky that day indeed.....That jerk should not be able to fly anything after that stupid stunt.
Straighten up and fly right.....

i agree it was very foolish to not do his mass and balance but a stall turn is only done with military trained pilot and i dont think he or she would not do a stunt like that with out checking if the arcraftis in the utility catagory i think somthing went worng with the 206 and ifthat is the case i think the pilot did a great job keeping it together to avoid a crash
