I built one a while ago.  To my knowledge, your choices are 1/48 Airwolf and the 1/48 CHP helo.  Both are out of production, but you can asily find them on ebay.  Just not always cheap.

I just won a AMT/Ertl 1/48 222 on ebay.
My other 'holy grail' kit was the Italeri 1/48 Stingbat LHX. Another ebay find.
They're out there. Combination of patience and dumb luck worked for me.

Might sound like an easy one... but for me that would be Tamiya's Loach... seems like no one wants to let one go, at least not for something other than an arm or a kidney.

Gotta try EvilBay more often. I'd be really happy if they release it again and with a price acording to its age (a'la Tamiya Zeros in 1/48).

It seems Airwolf/ Bell 222 is re-released: http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03824  although I haven't seen it show up here in Europe yet...

The kits I should have bought when the shops were still plastered with them, are the Dragon 1:35 MH6's... Anxiously waiting for a rerelease.

Thanks for the heads up mike, looks like I'm in bad luck, just checked and there is not a single one in 1/48 for auction right now... I'll keep my eyes peeled for one though.

BTW, Revell's Wessex is also a missing item in my stash... now that I think of it.

It would have to be either the 1/48 wessex or uh-34, and one you didn't have to sell your kids for. I'd settle for either.

The kit Ive been looking for for yeeeeaaars is the old Heller 1/50 Frelon. The really cool thing about this kit is that its actually a model based on one of the two concept /prototypes for what would become the super Frelon,so there are some elements about it that I actually like better than how the Super Frelon came to look. Trouble is that after waiting so many years to get it, and finally finding one on evilbay,i had it for 3 days and managed to break the brittle windsheild.

Just have to fashion a positive for a new window form and reincorporate the window fairing/pillars details, but thats okay, cuz itll be thinner and more to scale and not yellow.

Best best right now I guess is the"newly" issued Aoshima Airwolf kit in 1/48, they also did a Blue Thunder in 1/48.

Both kits were initialy released with PE/Metal parts which are dropped from later kits, but both kits got some pilots too.

Build both and they are nice, but the interior of the Airwolf is Movie authentic, so might be a problem.

Most online shops in Japan should still have stocks.

I have been trying like hell to find a 1/48 Seasprite.. I don't know why this kit is suddenly so rare.

Excuse me.. Is that an Uzi?

The "Pink Panther Car" Kit, bought one many yrs ago and at the time shop-owner(specialising in tracing kits) said it was the LAST one available.

But that was in the days prior to the WWW so there might still be an unbuild one out there somewhere.

I looked forever for the Kaman UH-43B Rescue chopper and eventually found it in 1/48th scale but wish it was in a larger scale. Now I just have to find time to build it.....

I don't believe there is a 1/48 version of that helicopter, if you bought the Hawk / Testors Huskie it is 1/32 even though the box says 1/48, so your wish has come true. Big Smile

Cobra Company makes a great detail kit for it.

I am holding out hope that someone will mold the AH-1Z (Accurate mold). and The sister Venom!!! Any scale would be fine......by 1/72 is preferred. Will try and ask Santa Clause to get one the Japanese Co to get on that one!

I've alway's wanted Airfix to re-issue their 1/72 Kamam SH-2F Seasprite Helicopter kit . I did build one many years ago and have alway's thought it was one of Airfix's best kits . If I had known back then how rare they were to become I would have stocked up on a few.

I did manage to track down the Fujimi 1/72 SH-2F Seasprite kit about a year ago and just recently I found another one on-line , I also bought one of those RotorCraft resin conversions to back date a 2F Seasprite to an early single engine HU2K-1 / UH-2A version . It's designed for the Airfix kit but I'm hoping it will suit the Fujimi kit as well .
