Here's a novel idea...don't wait for A/M detail sets. Advance your modelling skills and build the "new stuff" yourself. Push the limits...you'll be surprised and proud of the results.

The -46 was the first kit I went out and bought as soon as I was back stateside last summer. I've even got the PE interior, just have to re-order the exterior set. But it has to wait until I get a few other projects done and off the bench. Looking forward to doing this one up real nice...
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Difficult choice.
It's either the Merlin or the Super Stallion.
Both kits have been in eager claws, but I had to let go of them due to lack of space and funds (I only buy kits that are on sale).

Many kits that ought to be in the list, indeed. Cheyenne surely being one of the most missing ones (is that ok english? hmmm).

I had to choose one, but you should have put a choice on there for "All the Above". Bryan

Hey ridleusmc, yea I bought the model -46E as soon as it hit the streets. I also recieve my squadron catalog every month and saw the PE interior and exterior parts listed, but I will have to wait to buy them. So many projects and so little time. I would like to buy another one and just build one the CH-46E (marine) model and of course a D (navy) model. I am waiting to get together with a friend and scratchbuild a HH-46D model (the A/C I worked on for many years ) out of the CH-46E that academy produce. So when I get around to it, I'll have both models. And about a different helicopter? hmmmm..maybe the Corba. Liked walking around them when I was underway on the LHDs. Just watching the marines working on them also. Ridleusmc, thanks for the advice Big Smile [:D] Big Smile [:D] lol!!!!

James, no problem. I haven't built that one yet, so keep us informed on how it goes together.

I love all rotor types but who wouldn't find having a Mi-28 "Havoc" in their collection of all other russian choppers satisfying? To me they look like a 'smiling assasin'.

I would love to see either a Super Stallion or a Havoc. I've been wanting a Havoc in 1/48 for a while now, but somehow I doubt I'll see one any time soon.

All the Military stuff is great, but I agree with GeejeeZ, there some great civilian whirlybirds out there that aren't being kitted. I would like to see the Bell 427, Bell 412, and the Bokow 105, all in 1:48.

My vote goes for the H-34D, and an aftermarket kit to backdate the H-46E to a "D"! I don't understand why these two Helo's have not been produced prior to the later model Helo's?? They played very prominent roles with the Marines in VietNam, and have a very rich combat history. Semper Fi, Mike

blkhwkmatt: Revell makes a 1/48 CH-53G (German) that can be converted to a CH-53D.
