Mason,

Your current build of the old flat green 53's takes me back! I always liked that flat green paint scheme. It was a lot easier to keep clean and it looked good. Other then the shiny green paint jobs we had back in the day on the "A" and "D" model 53's, the flat green scheme is my second foavorite. Keep posting those pictures of your current build. I am kind of taking a break because of the heat in my garage where I build makes it difficult to get motivated to work out there! As for your question concerning the nose e-bay. I don't think that top shelf was on the early lot one and two aircraft and was an add when we got the ARC-210 radios and some other avionics gear added to the aircraft. Don't forget the tail blades on those old aluminum blades had BIM indicators and the blade cuff was bolted to the blades and then the blade bolted to the tail rotor hub much like the main blades bolt to the extenders. Like your work on the pylon and the tail gearbox.

I was not sure about the nose e-bay. I couldn't find any good picss and most of the guys who were helping were pretty current. So don't tell anyone, please.

On the tail rotors, are the BIM indicators similar to those on the main blades? If so I did put in something similar that was in the pics I found. I'd need more pics for the specifics on the rest of the tail rotor. I may just end up doing a rebuild of this one to fix a couple things. Please critique my build to let me know what I missed so I can start my list.

Got my 53 painted decalled and weathering started. Will post pics before too long.

Thanks for your input and thanks for looking. Please post pics of your build.
