Barruel, Thanks for the positive feedback and the tweek, I will say these pics are just handheld with only my desk light illuminating, hence the yellow. Great job whitening the pic, it looks so much better,What did you use to do it?  I will have better pics of the finished project. Thanks again!Big Smile [:D]

i dont know...while the lightening of the pic makes it easier on the eyes...the yellow light and natural shadow gives the illusion of dusk...hence making it feel like the temperature is gonna drop another 20 degrees!!! just my My 2 cents [2c] stern0!!! Big Smile [:D]

Hi

I am glad you liked it. I just used the good old ACDSee Pro software with the following steps:

1st - Auto  exposure

2nd - Contrast & Fill light

3rd - Saturation & Lightness

4th - Unsharp mask

Again, it's all in the eye of the beholder, as the saying goes!

CJ, Good point and good eye. It does have a dusky look..I think the cleaned up version helps with me see it a little clearer just so I can see what needs to be done...i'm still working on the photo part of the hobby, which is another whole hobby! As you know I will take the finished dio outside to get some good light, but will wait for a overcast day for sure to give it a grey look! I do want it to look coooold! Big Smile [:D]

Barruel, I think it is all personal preference, I do like to see what can be done with photo software though...the only think I noticed about the tweek is it lightened up somethings on the figs (around the ammo pouches) that dont fit in....it surely does make the snow look white...thanks again!Big Smile [:D]

When you get your overcast day, it might be fun to experiment with taking pictures at different times of the day. Perhaps taking the pictures at dawn or dusk might add to the illusion of being cold.

It looks great!! All the snow dusted every where’s really well done, the GIs all look like their a little confused and kind of shifting around in their boots, as if none of the 3 has said anything to each other yet, although based on the angle of the closest GI to the camera, it looks like he's about to say something to the middle guy- I think the Germans look really frozen, and the snow in general is awesome, love the vegetation, very natural, great work!

I guess I missed the big flaws, the glue on the log looks better now than it did, but if you're not happy with it, I suppose you can tweak it to perfection, which I'm really looking forward to because I think it looks awesome now! Good photographs also, they look much better outdoors. Thumbs Up [tup]

CJ, I will leave the glue, I guess it dosn't look so bad...It could be ice for sure!

Dave, Thanks for the kind words and for the Front page on RBM, I'm honored!

Chris, Thanks for the props! You always get what I'm trying to say..yes the GI's are a little taken back and that is why I have the angle as you said....you can bet they will be talking in whispers! Thank you guys for checking it out!Big Smile [:D]

Hi SternO...

Wow, that diorama REALLY says a lot of things, and like was mentioned before, the three GI's seem to be just as spellbound with the scene before them as WE are!

OUTSTANDING work my friend! Bow [bow]

Take care  Thumbs Up [tup]

Great job sterno! The GI's actually look sorry for the enemy. That is really one different dio. I'm sure this was also a common ocurrence for the German troops on the Eastern Front.
