17 - Damn! .... called out! HAHAHHA!!!! I've got more builds than I know what to do with.....

Chris - Actually, I'm taking a breather from everything tonight. I was going to work on "Calm" but then I remembered that I bought Legend's new interior set with the new radios and the BFT system. Coming from WAY overseas, so I'm having to wait for it before I can paint the interiors and close them up. Still got a little work I could do, but I decided on a break instead.

And Camo - No worries, buddy. If I can get one of the US suppliers to reorder it, I might get one. We'll see.

Legends has some crazy HMMWV update and detail kits out there- my brother ordered a pretty full package for a 1151 from luckymodel.com (I think,) somewhere out in the China/Japan area of online stores, got it in the mail after almost a month (probably not that long but I know it felt like it for him). Hey- have you seen our little build off in the Armor forum? I know I told you about it, just now got underway these last few days. Sorry to promote in your Mog thread- figured if you were taking a break from modeling you could at least look at models hahaha Tongue [:P]

There are a few gaps I would have puttied, but then again I'm just nit-picking.

I knew this would happen; I shouldn't have said anything!

BUT Since I know that if I don't tell you you'll be eaten by curiosity heres the pic:

As I said it's just nit-picking; should you decide to leave it as it is, it'll still be a great model.

Oh and there's that pilot with a weird lip ... Laugh [(-D]

Dammit!!!! (HAHAHAHA!!!)

That's not too bad I guess. I'll just chalk this up for a learning curve. This is my first helo build ... well in a long time at least. I think that the gap on the console will be mostly covered by the wind screen and the holes in the floor ... well, I'll just argue those as seat attachment points. (hehe)

Thanks for pointing those out ... and you're right ... it would have bugged the crap out of me! HAHA!!!

i think with the seat belts ya dont have to worry about the molded ones...that said, unless you take it to a show where people are going to thoroughly give it a good viewing! even then it might not matter...but i know those sticklers for accuracy might have a fit that im even telling you this!!! i like the belts none the less! Thumbs Up [tup]

Those seat belts look great MC- and hey- even if they can see the molded belts through the "glass" and around the dash and behind the masking tape- just tell them the vests were a little loose fitting and the pilot/co-pilot just really cinched their vest straps down.

Ol' hair-lip looks like he has a grimace in one of those pictures, either he's got a tight landing coming up or he's been listening to Tom making fun of him

Shock [:O] OR the next step will be to put the center consol back in place!! I was looking at it like... hmm this is great, what's missing- then it hit me. What happened to that?! Get in the way of the belt addition? Maybe now you can fill it for Avus haha

Wink [;)]

lol no, no- you guys misunderstood. I meant to say that with everything in the way of the molded belts, even if someone did see a part of them like a clip or a strap, there's no way they'd think they were seat belts under seat belts. Just meant that from my point of view they look like just another vest/webbing etc.

I think you did a good job of matching up the belts to the "vest belts" as far as the way you laid them down. Sorry for the misunderstanding Blush [:I] I don't know if it was sarcasm or too little sleep, I'll work on it haha

Scary ... you know me all too well .... Laugh [(-D]

Well, I'm sitting here getting psst-off as @%$ .... I got the bird back together but it's UG-LY. Will all the old CA glue deposits, etc, the fit is horrible in almost every spot/ piece. I'm having to fill gaps and clamp pieces ... Another bad thing is that the exterior was already painted, so sanding files/ sticks get clogged like crazy. I'd really like to take a rougher stick to it, but I don't want to ruin the rasied rivet detail, and on the flip side, I don't have one of those rivert tools IOT "rescribe" the rivets later.

I'm determined for this one to look good, but DAMN!!!! ... I was hoping to have the bird finished by Sunday .... getting on to the building, but I don't think that's going to happen.

yeah, i know you well enough from the last 10 months or so and know what's clicking in your brain...well, once in awhile! think of this like my tree...all the things ya told me to do...well, do for you as well. if its frustrating you alot, walk away for a few days. you got plenty to do. just make it a priority to get back at in a few. i mean it sounds like you have a mess on your hands and i dont envy ya one bit...just do what ya can. patience will pay off in the long run!! good luck buddy! Isn't that my job? Now just make your posts really wordy, repeat the same things over and over again- slow your build pace down to a stand still, you'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Being psstoff isn't easy Laugh [(-D]

But seriously- Tom's got your back on this one- some space, some deep breaths and some time off. If you can scratch build the %@#$ out of figures, HMMWVs and anything else in between, I know you can handle some creative filling and sanding maneuvers! We all believe in ya Scott Thumbs Up [tup]- that determination will pay off.

n/p scott. like chris said, if you can tackle all that scratching, what's a little seam and glue issue. A BIG PAIN IN THE A$$ IS WHAT IT IS SCOTT...OH MY GOD GIVE IT UP THE WORLD IS OVER!!!!! Laugh [(-D] yeah as if!! i mean your worried about flaws, your worried about seatbelts, your worried about hairlips (Laugh [(-D])...RELAX man. now i think you know why 100% i dont worry about those kinds of things. ya can drive yourself crazy trying to "get it right". you want this in a show, you want to show it off in your group builds...i know, and i know you'll get it. that's why i think you should leave it alone for a couple of days otherwise you might try and halfa$$ it!!! Big Smile [:D]

I know, I know ... you guys are right. I don't think I'm really at the point that I need a couple of days though. I think I was just really disappointed in being all happy about the cockpit, and then finding that the exterior was going to be a PITA. I'll be fine though.

I go so frustrated last night that at about 7pm, I took off on a 10 mile ruck .... SOooooo, today while I've got tired dogs, I'm gonna sit a tackle/ think about this one.

Really the only thing that I'm worried about is doing so much sanding, etc that I loose a lot of the molded-on detail. I mean, this thing doesn't have panel lines, but rather "lines" of raised rivets. I wouldn't be opposed to sanding everything off and using a rivet wheel tool to re-tool the A/C, but 1) I've never done that before and 2) .... uh .... I've never done that before ... oh, yea, and I dont' have a rivet tool.

Anyway, we'll being thinking about it today, so if you've got some ideas PLEASE let me know.
