Man.. the details are facinating. Simply the best.

Wonder how is that commander going to walk with his helment over his eyes.

i don't know-he looks rather pompous to me...i like pompous commanders-they have a tendancy to stick around even though nobody likes them...great skill that takes
great job-don't seem many vehicles like this-how did you do the cigarrette?

Hi guys, thankyou very much for the comments. Details,I thrive on details,it is my favourite part of the whole build. The defiant look of a CO is the look that I always like to portray, shows who`s in command and who should be followed, gives character too.
The cigarettes were made from cat whiskers that my Manecoon cat sheds, they`re pretty handy for ariels too.

As always, great build sasd. Your models/dioramas never dissapoint. Infact, they hit the spot.

Thank very much Martin for that comment, that is my goal,to promote creativity and satisfaction of having created something cool! My work is not the most accurate on the block but I hope it stimulates modelers to build. Thank you again.

I agree that this is a great diorama. Not knowing much about the M12, but knowing how to type www.google.com I did a quick search and came up with the following description on http://www.wwiivehicles.com/usa/self_propelled_guns/m12_gun_motor_carriage.html

Initially only used for training, but with the invasion of Europe to happen, it was decided to prepare them for combat. 74 were upgraded by the Baldwin Locomotive Works to the M4 chassis.

There was now armor protection for the crew as it was intended to be well behind the front lines and used as long range artillery.

Eventually 75 were sent to Europe. They were used in the taking of Cologne and in busting the bunkers in the Siegfried Line.

sasd, as always, you work is quite creative and impressive. You just keep pumping them out Big Smile [:D]
Can you give some detail as to the parts used, namely for the wood fence, and the stone-work fence and building in the background?

First let me tell you about Lemax. This company makes Christmas Village pieces from
buildings to footbridges to trees. They either come in ceramic or plastic, are prepainted
but that can be changed easy enough. The trees are either realistic or Christmassy and everything is usefull at somepoint. Micheals is a big carrier of this line and I gotta tell you there`s some pretty neat peices in this stuff! There is now also knockoff stuff available from Canadian Tire and other department stores.
Now having said all that the picked fence, wrautiron fence and the streetlamp are all from Lemax, repainted and weathered. The building fasads are shapes of insulation foan cut, glued together, painted and weathered. Real crushed brick, sidewalk is cut cork bricks glued directly to the base and the powerpole is a piece of dowl drilled into the base. Hope this helps. Have funSmile [:)]
