Are you working with the model AT-ST that has the little wind-up mechanism?  That's a funky little thing I remember building with my son as his first ever model!  Have seen some good things done with that kit.  Should be really good in just about any landscape, eh?

onyxman & gulfstreamV!  You guys still want in on the program?  Let me know what ya got in mind, and will update the first message accordingly.

BADGE BADGE BADGE!   I know these have sort of slipped in popularity, but does anyone have any ideas for a build badge, or desire to make it even?  I like doing those sorts of things, but want to leave the door open for ideas and such, or for anyone who might want to make one.

Dern it all anyway... I got some really good, varied ideas on just what to do with this thing, but until I receive it and get a good looky at the model, I am not sure exactly.  I am rather prone to the idea of having it washed up on a beach, half-buried in the sand and rusted, covered with barnacles and such... and if I can get a look of waves splashing at it.  hmmmm... this could be really cool... little crabs and such nesting in it?  tick-tick-tick goes the brain here...

Now then, badges... yes, we really could use a badge! 

I am fairly good with making things using a paintshop-type program, so if anyone has an idea on badges... Lets offer up! I can do some funky effects with text and graphics, but will see what you guys all think for the design idea...

Hey Aric got your E-mail. I did send you an idea which I thought might go Sci-Fi. and Armour, an APC from the Film Aliens maybe with a turret from another vehicle.

Anyhoo...... I started last night on an American M3 Stuart in Russian service, abandoned on a river bank completely overgrown and half sunk. A work colleague, Joe will also be joining in doing a burnt out BMP3.

Keep me posted, If theres a badge or not. Not that I use my interior GB badge, Montana cowboy designed it.

Terry, looking forward to your stuff.  And I tried to write you back after you e-mailed me, but for some reason the addy your message came from comes up as "undeliverable."  Do you have some sort of filter against hotmail messages?

Am personally hoping to make occasional photo updates of my model as it takes shape... after I get hold of one that is... but will have that down in the next two weeks one way or another.

well Aric, I sitting here thinking and am closer to a light piece of armour, probably an m20 or a universal carrier which I seen on another site with a tree growing up through the center and a complete rust finish. If its the american scout car it will be upturned half buried in a ditch with all the wheels gone. Maybe with a few bullet holes and 50 years over grown, I'll want the viewer to look for a while to realise whst exactly they are looking at.

scotty beaming in?  Will get your name on the roster... and I think it is fair to let this be a nice, longdrawn timeframe of "end of the year."  The Naboo Fighter sounds like a great idea, especially if it'll mean being crashed in some forested or swampy place with lotsa rust, moss and algae potential!  I can just see the gaping holes now...  oooohhh.... and what about a skeletal pilot?  I will shut up now...

I am really hoping to land the MaK Gans to make something.... otherwise I will either take on a Star Wars or military subject. 

Count me in too, found an old dusty Naboo fighter just lying around I was going to spray it up to it's former glory but this sounds more intresting and maybe a chance to learn some new techniques. Got alot on at the moment with my Eurofighter dio but this is one I'm going to watch & maybe start in the next 2 weeks or so..

Well, I think we have a build in the making for sure!  Good enough for me to say it's a done deal!

It sounds like we have a fair start of maybes and probably at least a few definites... So, keep 'em coming, guys!  If you are considering and thinking on it say so, and will make you a "definite maybe".  If you are jumping into it fullbore, then I'll flag you as "definite."  Just tell me what you have in mind, and I will put your intended subject by your name on message one.

I agree about a very generous time-frame because this isn't just out-of-the-box.  We're talking about build it, bust it, rework and all.  And it almost goes without saying that when you are doing this sort of model you probably want to put it in a diorama of some sort, even if it is a mini-dio.  Being this is a defininte "kitbash with details" project involving at the minimum a lot of extra paint care, and beyond that some serious alterations to give the model a beat-up look, PLUS the creation of a diorama setting for it, I think extra time is really vital.

For a timeframe... Does anyone object to making a "Mid-July" start with room for more to join in later?  And for "end date"... would it be stretching it enough to say "November", or just take it to the end of the year?

And you guys still thinking, go on, take a step and say "put me on the 'definite maybe list'!"

Very intriguing! I don't know when I'll find the time away from the major kit-bash I'm doing now but I can envision several great subjects, particularly with wrecked ships.

I've been thinking of something like this ever since I was on Saipan about 15 years ago and saw an old Japanese Type 97 tank rotting away in the brush.  I thought it would be fun to do a 'before' ( 1944) and an 'after' (2006) project. Anyone, i'll probably never get to this so feel free to steal my idea. :)

Sounds like we have a couple definite maybe's?  That could almost qualify for a Group Build, eh?

...was the one that moved me to get this idea rolling... so there's a plug for his great "piece-of-junk" (meant as a compliment for the success of the "trashing of the model.").

Anyway, as stated previously, I am using the first message as the intro for the build... and am now altering the message accordingly as the build comes together.
