Looking good Rob.

One question: Why are the wings painted already in that one photo with the paper clips on the ends?

Was that just a primer to see if there were flaws?

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

Thanks.

Ya.  I had to fill the seam on the bottom and the top had a huge sink, so I primed and blocked them.  Need to do it again before final paint.

Very nice detail! I would think that the main body is going to have gaps and fit problem's just like with all other Giant Bird kits?

On my Work Bench: Tamiya Ford GT 1/24

Nose section is closed up.  I added about 1.8 oz of lead to the nose so she'll sit on the gear.  I hope this is enough.

I got the center section closed up today, and attached the nose and tail sections.  OH MY GOD.  This thing is a monster.

The gap at the nose section sucks.  It's going to take a lot of work to get this right.

Tail gap is not bad

wow the front gap looks like the grand canyon!! is this what i have to look forward to? If I may say it looks like you could open up the seams under neath and spread the plastic out with a wedge to bring it out a little more ,match up the edges on the sides and fill the bottom.......whattya think?

Thank you ,Krow113

Doing that would mean a tear up to the nose gear bay.  Nose section seams are down the middle and the center section is on the sides.  It seams (no pun intended) the center section is just too large.  When I bonded the center to the nose, I had to use a clamp to get the sides to fit, otherwise, the entire seam would have been like the picture.  She's a putty monster, just like my SR-71.....

The stand makes it a lot easier to handle a model this big.   I made on for the top as well, so when i turn it over, she'll sit level.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle the grand canyon!!!!!

"Gap" doesn't even begin to describe what's going on there but I can think of a whole list of words that would cause the nanny bot to burn down that might fit.

Was the gap evident on both sides? And did the repair need equal work each side? Pulled outa the fire nicely.

The gap was only on the right side.  I could have balanced them, but the center lines between the front and center sections was not lined up.

Learned an important lesson today.  Testors All Purpose Spray Enamel Primer SUCKS. Bang Head It's been 24 hours and it will not sand.  It just turns into little balls.  You can't even wet sand it.  Something so easy has turned into a pain in the butt.  RANT OFFZip it!

Try some paint remover to get it off, then try a different primer.  I've used MM Gray primer with no problems.

I don't know if it has been mentioned already, I didn't scan the text, but if a fuel tank is carried in a B-1B weapons bay it should be up front, not in the far back.

According to Squadron/signal Bone B-1 Lancer in action, page 29, the 18,870 puond tank can be installed in any of the 3 bays.

These are the Eduard Afterburner Cans.  It took me all day to assemble one.  I turned down a pill bottle to use as a jig, then started the assembly.  Each can consists of 52 parts.
