What aircraft kits should TAMIYA take out this year?

I wouldn't mind seeing a 1/48th Vulcan myself. That is one neat plane.

1/32 English Electric Lightning
1/32 Gloster Javelin

1/32 anything used by the RAF

and 1/48 Victor, Vulcan and Valliant

O.K. guys here's what I learned about Tamiya from their two reps that were here last summer at the I.P.M.S. Nats. I asked them about a B-17 in 1/48 scale and they laughed! They said that: "A B-17 in any scale is only a rumor". I asked if they were going to do any more 1950's Navy jets (like a F-11F Tiger or an F3H Demon) and this is what they told me... Tamiya is mainly concerned about how well their products are going to sell in Japan, and if the subject won't have any appeal in their own country then Tamiya won't produce it. So my suggestions have already been shot down. Now this is what the represevtatives of the company that were present told me. If it isn't true then Tamiya needs to can these two and hire guys who know what's going on. Ever since last summer I haven't looked at Tamiya the same. If what those two guys said is true then it's a shame. They make great models and can go far.

For me, a B-17 would be the tops!! It would be huge, in 1/48, and probably would cost a hundred dollers, but it would be worth it for sure!!! I'll pay for a couple right now if they would take my money!!!

Nope, no addition to the house. I just like to dream a lot........................ Can you imagine how BIG that kit would be, though? At LEAST a $200 price tag.

I forgot to add, in addition to the 1/32nd B-36, that a 1/48th North American OV-10 Bronco & a 1/48th Cessna SkyMaster would be nice kits. The Testors offerings of these two kits S--K!!!

Nope believe it or not.....NOT YET! I plan on making it down there one day. Mike(Renarts)went and told me some about it he also shot some photos of the Avro 671 Rota they have there....Which I need to break out and build eventually.

I wish Tamiya would bring out a 1/32 Spitfire as good as the 1/48 versions.

But I really like twin engine prop and I am beginning to like 1/48 more.
One thing is Tamiya has to lower thier prices a little $40 for a single engine fighter is a bit steep. JOHN

My first choice: A fresh tooling of a 1/48 F-101 B/F Voodoo. The whole Voodoo family would be nice actually.

Some others for 48th that come to mind:

DeHavilland Vampire/Sea Vixen family (please, please, pleeeease!)
Ilyushin IL-28 "Beagle"
MiG-23/27 variants
S-2F Tracker
SAAB Viggen (The Viggen is almost gone from the skies, please say the old Esci, now Airfix, kit won't be the last word in 1/48 representations of that beauty!)

This last one is a real looooooong shot, but would look great on the shelf next their MiG-15: I'd reeeeeally love a 1/48 kit of the Lavochkin 15. It never saw service outside the Soviet Union and by some accounts was a better jet than the MiG-15. Unfortunately it was more complex and Lavochkin was falling out of favour with the Soviet Government at the time and was just about to be shut down.

Like I say, a long shot, but I'd love to see it.

32nd B-36? I'm still waiting for the 1/16 kit from Laerton.
