Hi, I am Jay Tison, co-founder and member of the Board of Trustees of IPMS Philippines. Bert Anido initiated the forming of a plastic model airplane club back in June of 1968. Tiggy Barcelona organized this group in 1974 and established them in 1975 as IPMS Philippines Chapter, a Charter Chapter of IPMS UK. This chapter became a battlefield of warring factions amongst the aircraft modelers back in the late 70's and early 80's. The car modelers rolled away in disgust in 1980. The lone ship modeler also left. The armor modelers were then a care-free group unmindful of the goings-on around them and came out of their turrets to find out that there was no more IPMS organization in the Philippines. This Chapter began to break up in 1980 and finally fell apart in 1982 and met its demise in mid-1984 when there was no longer a leadership and the remaining handfull of members lost interest and went their own separate ways. In 1989, I together with Monchito Hermoso, founded and established anew the independent IPMS Philippines organization. The board of Trustees where we invited Tiggy B. and Roger Uy of the "old" IPMS Philippines in 1990. Bert Anido was invited to be a member of the Board of Trustees but declined our invitation. IPMS Philippines was sailing by 1991. Bert Anido was finally convinced to join us in 1992. When my dear friend, Bert Anido, past away last May 2003, many of the current club members renamed the club the Bert Anido Chapter. I left the group together with Tiggy Barcelona to retain the original club named IPMS Philippines to which have a total of six clubs under umbrella which EXCLUDES Bert Anido Chapter.

hi fellow filipino scale modelers! i'm quite new with scale modeling. hope you could enlighten me with a few troubles. what color should be my base coat for modern fighter jets? i'm currently working on academy's 1/48 f-14 tomcat. i use tamiya's spray work and i'm satisfied with the result. however, with the previous kits i built (afv), i didn't quite got the color i wanted. how should i thin tamiya acrylics? i read it should have the consistency of milk... thanks. oh, and, does Wipe and Shine really does the trick?

That's okay, man... happens to all of us who satrted in the hobby - growing pains, i guess... hehehe

Anyway, what you're asking will take a while to explain. Why don't you just pass by PMS/Manila in one of our meetings (we'll be having one in February - actually monthly) so we can help you. Let us know where you're at so we could also probably recommend a club nearer your location if our club meeting spot is too far. We're always glad to help. After all, it's all for the hobby, right?
