My Mitchell is basically done.  I still have a few touch ups, but I wanted to post.  I had a few issues with the nose, if you look closely.  But since I was just throwing this together for a ceiling hangar, I wasn't going to spend a lot of time on it.  Same goes for the nose decals.  They didn't quite fit properly, so I excluded them.  I still like the look and I really enjoyed putting this together.

Looks good!  I like the look of the "gunship" and hope to build it, an A-26 and A-20 for a set of them.

After some searching, and after giving up on getting a decent screenshot from the movie, I found the nose-art for Home Run...

WHY I don't do it with Google in the FIRST place, I don't know..

Need a PhotoShop God to help me with this one though.. My little "Picture It! Express" program (Windows 98 program, lol) can't handle turning it into a decal-sized bitmap..

I need it "Un-weathered", since my techniques for weathering start with a factory-fresh paint job...

Anyone reading this thread got anything like that in the ol' "Computer Skills Locker"?

put me down for revell's b-25j gun nose. its in nearly final stages, after i get the very front nose plate on, will paint and try to figure out how to put pics on here.

Actually, there's no roster as this is an "informal" Group Build with no start or finish date... It's a "jump in and hang on" type, and you can enter it anytime with any number of scale of Mitchells (although the Monogram ship is the most popular so far)...

I tried (unsuccessfullly, I might add) to aquire a 1/48 Revell B-25B from Ebay the other day... It went for over 40.00, so I was out early, lol..  But I wanted it for those engines it has.. I'd planned on casting a large number of copies...

I still have the Accurate Minatures B-25 to go though...  Plus two more Revellogram Js... I have an "H" too (Currently in the guise of a Marine PBJ-1H) , but it's lacking the top nose-half.. It's almost complete but for that nose...

Pics are easy to do... First get an on-line photo-hosting site account like PhotoBucket, and upload your pictures there.  Then, once they're there, you can use the URL thing (which I never figured out) next to the thumbnails or, what I do, is open the picture on PB, then right-click on the photo. That brings up a box and has "Properties" listed.  Left-click on that, then highlight and copy the URL Address, the paste THAT into the box that opens when you click on the little film-strip icon in the reply window, next to the smilies, where it tells you to "Insert Media"... then click on "insert". That's it, yer done... Your picture should appear in the reply window.  

It's best to have two windows open when you do this, so you don't have to switch back and forth.. Like so:

I am with you in printing decals from the ole computer.  I had some success, but had issues with getting the correct scale and with printing white.  I gave up after a while.

It's ok if I make my own, I just can't seem to scale down existing artwork..

Meanwhile, work continues on the Home Run ... I taped the fuelage halves together and then marked the cut.. Then I took the razor-saw and started cutting in half.  This destroys the model and immediately makes you wish you hadn't done it..

I then started adding more strip for internal ribbing, which is going to be pretty pronounced after the model is placed on the diorama.. I used Evergreen strip here, and will be gluing it all the way around the entire diameter of the fuselage, in both halves.  It's a little tedious, but the end result will be prety cool, I think..  More interior detail is going to be needed since one will be able to see into the entire waist...

I agree...that internal ribbing will be a focal point that will naturally grab one's attention.  I look forward to the finished product.

I forgot to mention that that's another B-25 fuselage from yet another kit.. I got too much interior work into the first one to tear it in half, lol.. Just couldn't do it... But Hobby Lobby has 'em priced at 18.00 per kit, plus a 55%% discount, I got lots of B-25s... And P-61s, lol..

I figure on adding a USMC PBJ-1H to this build too..  Gotta love that three-color camoflage of blue and white with the red-bordered insignia...

Is it me, or does that nose art for Home Run look a little... weird. Shouldn't his missile bat be contacting the Nazi ball and not held in the upward "I'm ready to swing" position - since the ball has already been hit? lol

Nahh, that's his follow-thru after crushing the swastika ball - it's all good!

also... look at the ball.its out of perspective to the figure.. the ball is flying towards you.. AFTER he hit is.. crushed the swastika and tearing the cover some..
