This Monogram 1/48 Voodoo was built several years back. I had the kit in my stash for a awhile before deciding to do a "what if?" build. I wanted an all-black Voodoo in a pseudo Blackbird-type look. I don't think any recon Voodoos were painted this way, but it makes a striking appearance for these fast jets . I used flat, semi-glass and gloss black as well as the same range in clear acrylics to paint it. The decals are from an F-117 kit, iirc. I had posted pics of it years ago, but these are the first taken in a natural setting, in good light.

Oooohhh. You should head over to the Berny GB and show these. Im sure the guys over there would love to see it.

Now that I'm here, where am I??
Very nice Voodoo. I really like the looks of the plane. It just looks fast.
I haven't seen that kit in a long time. Nice execution with the black scheme.

A 50's hot rod scheme on a Voodoo! Needs some primer!

Hey, thank you all for your comments! I'm really glad the Voodoo got such a good response. She could haul *ss back in '54, and she did it without the "area ruled" fuselage too. Brute power did the deed, and she looks like it too. Maybe the USAF never painted these birds (I am aware of one black Voodoo) black, but they should've! Thanks you all again, it means a lot to me!

Always liked the looks of the 101 and she looks even more ominous in black! Plus I think- Voodoo- black magic! And love the different shades you did on the engines. Super job!

You do not see the Voodoo modelled very often. Which is a pitty, especially when they can look as cool as your build.
That looks stunning in all black.
I love the smell of plastic in the morning
Thanks Gamera, Borg and Shawn! I'm glad you like the build. They say black is slimming...does the Voodoo look slim to you guys? She just looks cool to me. She was a hauler in her day! Like a black 1952 Vincent Black Lightning.(with thanks to Richard Thompson!) Thanks for your comments, keep 'em coming, lol!
I have to say that this guy really stands out in a black paint sheme.Nice work Tex!
With regards, Ninetalis.

Thanks a lot! That black does look different doesn't it? I'm working on a Hurricane IIC that will be all-black too. I've got to try and recall all the little "tricks" I used back when the Voodoo was built. Thanks again NT!
