Revell Boeing B-29
Posted by leardoc on Saturday, May 18, 2013 3:53 PM

Finally finished my Revell 1/48 Boeing B-29. I built it out of the box with the exception of True Details wheel set. It is painted with Alcald II (3 different shades) and Tamiya Bare Metal Silver. It took me about 100 hours to build over 5 months.

Very nice!  That's a great backdrop for that bomber, well done sir.

Awesome, got that one in my stash. I was going to do that same scheme. How much weight did you use to keep the nose down?

Thanks   You know I really didn't weigh how much, I just kept adding until it worked, in the cockpit behind the side panels, in the upper turret housing and also in all four engine nacelles. I used lead shot in the cockpit areas and lead washers in the nacelles. A rough estimate is about 1.5 to 2 lbs total.

Very nice finish, especially the variations in the panels!  Well done.  It does my old Monogram-lovin' heart good to see your build.
