In the immortal words of Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth: "Good news, everyone!" I'm finally, FINALLY done with my B-24! It only took me eleven months (in my defense they've been the busiest eleven months I've ever seen haha)to complete this beast but it's finally done! My thanks goes out to all you guys who offered me words of advice, encouragement, research, photos, and even zip ties! I don't think this build would have ended up the way it did without the help and support I got from you guys. So, here's the rest of the build, in photos!
The decals went on with no problems at all. The national insignias on either side of the aircraft needed to be trimmed a bit to fit around the windows forward of the waist gun hatches, but other than that there was very little work that had to be done to get them to fit.
after all of the decals were in place, I sprayed another clear coat over the airframe. I let it dry overnight, then I started the weathering process.
The result: simply awesome, if I do say so myself! I chose to model "Kate Smith" of the 98th BG. I'm eventually going to build a display base for this one, but for now I'm going to allow myself a day of rest before I dive into any more projects! Thanks again for the help with this build, guys! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! I will take some more photos of this beast tomorrow and post them.
