Nice work on that kit and diorama !

That is an excellent way to display such a large kit and avoid potential damage by an over enthusiastic dust wand wielding SWMBO Whistling

I bought the old 1970s era release Italieri kit for $8 at a local swap meet last year...........probably what the kit cost at time of release.Hmm

I don't know if I will put as much detail into the kit; probably resin interior and vac formed cockpit perspex if I can still find those items.

Forgive me if I missed it in a post, but how large is the display base?

Wow Bish!  That's something else man!!  Great job on the plane and the dio, it all looks super.  Are two hands required to move that beast?  I was asking myself where one would grasp it to move it around.  It is a masterful work Bish, congratulations!

Spruce, thanks. All my 72nd aircraft are built as diorama's, I simply can't bear the thought of them just sitting alone on a shelf. ever since I first saw Shep paine's crashed B-17 dio, I knew that's what I wanted to do.

No, you didn't miss it, the base is 16x17and a half inches. It could probably do with being an inch wider, the wings are only just within it.

The Italeri kit is a nice kit, and for that price, you can't complain. I can't remember if the cockpits are both the same in that kit, using the Eduard PE on this one, you get two slightly different layouts.

gary, thanks, yes two hands indeed. For bases this side, I slide one hand underneath and grip an edge with the other. Its still on the bench at the moment, with just enough room left to work. It will probably go on the wardrobe in our bedroom for now, about the only space left and its up out of the way.

A-1 job on this my friend!  Truly worth all the effort you put in.  The groundwork is pretty impressive too.

Exceptional work,  Bish.  The colo(u)rs are so subtle and the weathering so deftly and sensitively applied, that everything simply works together to create a very realistic and appealing diorama.  This is exceedingly well done, and I think you've surpassed even your previous standards.

Wow, Bish, amazing!  All that in a 72nd?  Stunning, and such tiny work.  I know I have some fiddly bits in a 48th, but you've done an exceptional job on such a tiny piece.  Excellent diorama!
