Zombie thread here, I recently purchased the Italeri 130E/H in 1/72, im wondering what the demensions are?  My plans are to have it sat on a airfield base, and im wondering if a 1/72 base will be big enough.  In looking at the pictures they always have fighters sitting on the bases, which reguardless of the scale are always smaller than a 130 lol.  I appreciate the help!

FYI...Wolfpack is releasing an H update set this month. It's a must have to correcting the Italeri kit.

Excellent work. I have been looking to put together an H model with accurate comm/nav avionics like what I worked on in Elmendorf. Now I know where to get proper SKE radomes. Now I've gotta get back to working on the nav's bench.

Hey Steve, great build. Brings back memories since I was at Dyess from 82 to 86. Most of the heels then were still in southeast asia scheme . Just purchased the same kit and hoping to reflect that scheme on mine. Just back into modeling , have completed a few out of the box kits. Hoping mine turns out half as good as yours! Nice job

Nice job on your Herk, I spent some of my enlisted days at Ft. Bragg across the fence from Pope. Loved seeing the Herks flying around and the airborne drops.

Nice model! I've always liked the C-130.

The stencil set is the Warbird Decals C-130 Common Data Set - USAF and USMC. The specific unit markings, which there are none for the 40th AS, but needed the right Stars and Bars is from the Authentic Decals C-130 set.

Yes actually, I was thinking about it.

Some specifics: The square hole is cut with a 7/16 miter drill bit at a 20 degree angle. The bases are approximately 8" in length.

Those are great-looking bases. You thinking of marketing them on the side? I would definitely consider buying one.
