SU-22 "Fitter"
Posted by BlackSheepTwoOneFour on Saturday, February 21, 2015 10:48 AM
Who makes them? I know Academy has them in 1/144th scale but not interested in that scale. Eduard discontinued their 1/48 scale line so... It sucks no one makes kits of those Soviet swing-winged jets. :(

The Eduard kit is a re-box of the Kopro Kit. Ebay is your only chance. I've heard Trumpeter is releasing one in 1/48 soon...

Never know til you try. Ebay is a gem for kit buying. I've bought close to 100 kits off Ebay and never regretted it, all for under MSRP. Those kits just don't exist anywhere else. I do hope Trumpeter does a Fitter in 1/48.

-There's also buy/trade/sell/swap sections on other forums. I bet if you put in a request at ARC, Hyperscale, or somewhere else you'd have that kit in a week.

tempestjohnny -

This is the SU-22 jet I wanted a kit of. They are swing-wings like the F-14 Tomcat. Check out this video:

Italeri Su-22 in 1/72 :

Plastyk 133 Suchoj SU-22 M4 Fitter K (Polish Air Force)

The Su-17 and Su-20 are similar but have differences.

My meaning of the fixed wings was that kit you do not have the option of the wings swept or unswept. Sorry for the confusion.

You can always look at eBay auctions with the Buy It Now option.

Gotcha tempestjohnny. :) If it's true Trumpeter is coming out with the 1/48 scale version, I hope they manufacture it with wings to be swept in and out.

What about KP models? One of my favorite Soviet birds.
