No worries.

It should be possible for you to correct the initial post by clicking on the yellow pencil icon on lower left of your post .

I picked up the Bf 109E kit from a local swap meet.

Unlike the AIRFIX Typhoon, the Spitfire and Messerschmitt kits were designed in the very early 1970s before CADD /CAM permitted  ultra detailed kit molds.

Considering how AIRFIX has been steadily releasing new mold 1/72 aircraft models, if the new 1/24 Typhoon sells well perhaps they will favor us with new mold versions of 1970s 1/24 kits.

I look forward to watching your Spitfire build progress.

Looking very nice so far.Big SmileYes

Those after market instrument gages are on my need next list.

Oke, first things first. The decals. No cockpit/gauges there. So I first ordered a 3th party set....

This should do the job...

These are the cockpit parts:

Yes, that's all.

Some paint added:

And decals:

Now some patience needed to let it all dry before I can start with the details.

Let's talk engines...

Challange #2.

I'll walk you through it:

Last one for today... the seat:

After the layer of black primer I first made the flare holes a little big bigger:

The base color applied...

Some parts need to be modified...

Well, that's all for now. Hope to see you soon! Pleas feel free to comment or ask!

After almost finishing the Tiffy, I started with the Airfix 1/24 Supermarine Spitfire. To be honest, I was a little disappointed after opening the 2011 box....

It's quite another kit than the highly detailed Tiffy. The opposit I may say. I will treat this kit as a challange....
