I did the final shot in normal color. The exterior is so bright, you can't see any details at all. Too much "BLING BLING"! So I remembered how my daughter enjoys shooting in black and white; "She says it shows in it's true way". Hence the three black and white photos. Even she liked it and said; "Dad, you did a good job". Don't forget, this whole silver Stang was her idea in the first place. Thanks to BrandonK, this Stang is called "Silver Surfer". Thank you BrandonK for that analogy.
If I told you this kit was not difficult and did not frustrate me, I am a blantant liar. Intricate parts, PE, some directions not as clear, and finger prints were just some of the small things that occurred. The silver plated chrome parts just needed a little TLC and sanding and or etching of parts to be glued was all it needed to be completed.
As far as the build? The Merlin engine is a treat to assemble. Everything falls exactly in it's required space. Then came the oil cooler, cockpit, and radio. These items mentioned are all connected as a one piece structure to the Merlin. This was a very cool and neat idea, thumbs up to Tamiya!
In the rest of the build, I had some jiggling to do prior to glueing, this of course was my fault. I'm happy to proclaim my three new techniques, dry fit, dry fit, and dry fit! Other than what I mentioned, I'm very happy with the "Silver Surfer", it is a unique and one of a kind build.
