Stepped away from the engine for today.

More work on the pit - the belts are a combination of Eduard fabric ones and a little gin bottle foil for the bits that split/frayed as these fabric ones sometimes do.

That engine has some great details. This is gonna be one sweet kit.

Ugh...just when things were going so well...

In the finishing straight with the engine. Took the plunge and removed the front section of the fuselage...great - good fit too.

Then, as i was attaching one of the last few bits of wiring...I dropped the engine. Only onto the carper but enough to fracture 4 or 5 of the attachment points I'd painstakingly glued.

I maybe sometime... Crying

Almost 3 weeks in and the engine is slowly getting there.

Hopefully ready to get back to the main bit of the kit by the end of the weekend,

It's comming along nice. I own the Dual Combo P-39 kit, so it will be fun watching this go together and may give me some incentive to break my kit out. (although I have 3 project going on now).

Oh nice start so far. I built the Mk. VIII, and it's one of my favorite kits ever. I have been toying with the idea of the XVI, so I'm watching this with interest. I can't wait to see the engine.

Bit more done. Toying with the idea of adding some pipework detailing...thoughts?

It'll be cool to see an Eduard kit go together.

Attempting a bit of detailing with the addition of a Brassin engine set. Hopefully opening it up will go smoothly.

Until it arrives, begun work on the cockpit:
