Toshi, I noticed your mention of Detail & Scale books.  You can find them for free at Boxartden.com.  Nice work on the P-39.  One mention though, on the interior color after examining the remains of several P-39's at the Pioneer Park air museum in Fairbanks, the interior is a very dark green like Bronze green which I think was known as Bell green.

Thank you sir for the heads up.

Another nice looking build Toshi. I do like those HGW belts myself, use a set myself on a 109 build last year.

Looking foward to more.

Thanks Bish!  This was my first experience with HGW belts, I think it's a really cool idea and I would definately recommend it to fellow modelers.

Thank you lawdog114.  I too have never heard of Kitty Hawk models until just recently on my Kingfisher thread.  I highly recommend Kitty Hawk and especially their P-39 kit.  Mrs. Toshi likes Kitty Hawk so much in that she even purchased for me a Bronco Kitty Hawk kit of which should arrive at the start of next week.

Stunning work! Any idea what the price is on this and Revell's kits?

Thank you so much midnightprowler.  The cost of the Kitty Hawk Airacobra was $69.99 including shipping and handling.  The Revell of Germany Airacobra is roughly half the price of the Kitty Hawk kit.  Mrs. Toshi purchased the P-39 via EBay.

How does the Revell kit compare?

How does the Revell kit compare?

I can't give you a answer to this question as I have never built the Revell of Germany Airacobra.  I can tell you that the Kitty Hawk P-39 is a extremely well detailed kit.

Toshi,

This looks like a beauty of a kit! The P-39 could have been a real winner of an aircraft if certain changes had been made as planned. As it was it did prove to be an excellent ground attack aircraft with the USSR. Like another ill fated aircraft in US service (the Brewster Buffalo) it finally found success with a foreign power.

This is the current status on the P-39.  It has been primered, lightly sanded down, and has the underside painted.  I'll be AB the main part of the Airacobra in olive drab.  While the P-39 dries, I will take that opportunity to work on the landing gear.  Thank you forum members for all your read and replies.

Aggieman

The Revell 32-scale Airacobra is indeed a Revell of Germany release, but that mold originated with Special Hobby.

That's a nice looking kit Toshi and you're making a super job of her so far. You'll soon be putting her clothes on by the looks of it!

Have fun with the rest of the build!

LOL!  That's ok, I still have to add some white to the edge of the wings.  Then to clean up the build.  Thanks for following!

As always, I had some difficulty with spraying the white but by priming that area with a light gull gray that helped out greatly.  Right now I'm still adding touches here and there, then comes some decals, weathering, and the final sealing.
