All that extra detailing paid off. Looks great. Can't wait for the masterful diorama.

Thanks Joe.

I do like the Kora stuff. Both this and the SS-100 went together nicley. I know there pricey, the SS-100 was over £30 and this trolley was nearly 20, same as the 115 trolley. But the resin is well detailed, there is a nice subtle wood grain effect along the outer edges, and its easy enough to cut with more parts broken. Instructions could be a bit better, pretty basic.

I do need to get one of those 115's. I built one many many years ago, must have been the matchbox boxing. I really like the look of that aircraft. I am just hopeing the base works out. The adges are on, i just need to do the tarmac and then add the water, which is the bit i am not sure of.

Absolutely wonderful work on the paint scheme Bish. It looks righteous.

I like that you are using the Kora transport. I've been wanting to get one for my Revell/Matchbox 1/72 Heinkel He-115 but, I've balked so far because of the price. How are they quality/detail wise? I've wanted to do exactly what your doing with the He-115. Really excited to see your end result and how your ramp comes out.

Thnaks Mike, it has been a while since i posted, mainly because of the time it took to paint and waiting until i had somthing worthwhile.

Its not a type you see built very often. The Germans used a number of differant types of maritime aircrfat and they are often overlooked. The 24 was perhaps one of their most important, especially in the role of air sea rescue as well as recon.

I have never done water before, so decided to not try and over do it. And i like the idea of the aircraft being edged down the ramp to the waters edge. I do have another seaplane, the big BV 222 and that will be a full water dio, but thats for another time.

This thread must have been burried for a while... I seem to have missed it until now.

That is not an aircraft I have ever seen before, Bish. Unusual one for sure. That splinter scheme is really sweet and I'm almost surprised you didn't plan on having it in some water, but we all know how intimidating that is lol.

This build is really looking fantastic. I'm loving it so far!  :)

Been a while since i last updated, but i have been pluging away. I made the decision to add the wings before painting and its worked out ok. So with everything together, firstly i gave it a coat of primer. I had intended to take some pics before this, bhut of course, i forgot, again, so here she is all primed up.

So after that, it was time to paint. I was all set to do a nice 70/71 splinter. But i was checking over my decals instructions to decide which aircrfat i was going to do when i spotted it had 72/73 for the upper colours. I thought this can't be right, bt then after a few seconds the penny droped, its a maritime aircraft so has differant colours. That was just in the nick of time.

So, i have spent the last week painting, drying, masking, painting some more and so on. Being more fam, ilar with the 70/71 scheme, i was surprsied at how little contrast there is between these two colours.

And then today, time for the decals. I have gone for an aircraft based in Norway in 1942. I used print Scale decals. Its the second time i have used this brand, they lay down very nice but are so thin and very easy to damage so can be a pain to use.

With all that drying time, i have been able to get some work on the bse and ground vehciles.

For the base, i want a slightly sloping slipway. I had no idea what the angle should be so just guesstemate it. The slope goes from the front left corner to the rear right corner in this pic.

And for vehicles, i have an SS-100 from Special Hobby. This is my second SS-100 this year, the other being a resin one from Kora.

I have managed to get some of this together and ready to paint inside the cab.

And this will be towing the trolley from Kora.

And this has gone together nicley and been painted. There were a couple of biuts missing. But after my experiance getting the SS-100 direct, it took about 2 months, i decided to just scatch the missing bits.

So now i need to get to the weathering. Never haveing done a seaplane before, i have been reading up and checking out some pics and have a few ideas of how to get a nice grubby look, so we will see how that goes.

Nice work. I have that kit in the stash, picked up on a sale table.

PE, my gosh who would think?

I'd be glad to give it to anyone following this build.

I really like your choice of subject. Very cool to see you building a floater. And it is a beaut. Your work with that PE set is very well done. Glad you were able to snag that nice set. I'm anxious to see your paint work on it.

I thought the shelves were for the crew's model planes and supplies?  Thats what I'd put in there. Or any shelf for that matter.  lol.

Impressive work on the PE interior.  Any difficulties gluing them together?

Thanks Bob, i have decided to go for wings on. I didn't face risking ruining the paint job trying to get all the supports glued in place.

Its 12inches long and 15inch wingspan.

Looks pretty good so far Bish, I'll be interested in seeing if you paint it with the wings on or off. Just out of curiosity, how big is the kit? It looks to be a pretty decent size for 1/72.

Thnaks Johnny, glad you like it. I have never really paid this one much attention, despite building primarily German aircraft. I think its one of those thats often over looked, i hope i can do it justice.

Nice job Bish, you do excellent work! I have always loved this airplane since I saw some old photos of it moored in, I believe, Lorient, France during WW2. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Well, i was meant to post some pics a few dys ago. But i did my usual and just kept modelling. Having had a few slow days, i managed to have a couple of god nights and got quite a bit done.

So with the radios added and 3 crewman in place, i was able to get the pit fitted.

And got the last bits fitted to the rear compartment, useing some balsa for the wooden planks.

With this all done, i was able to close it up and add all the outside detail. Needed a bit of filler in some spots, there a few sink marks on the outside. Also got all the small PE parts added.

So all i have left to do is fit the canopy and add the engines and cowlings, then i can get painting. I have thought i might be able to paint with the wings attached, but i am not sure i will be able to do that. Going to have to dry fit to see if i can.

More soon (i hope)

Geezer, thanks for looking in, hopefuly an update will be coming soon.

panzer, thank you. Ye, i like to try and mix it up. Sometimes thats easier said than done, especially with GB commitments somtimes determining the subject genre. I have a lot more aircrfat than armour, so my aim is to do 1 armour to every 2 aircraft, but that does not always work out. After this, i will be doign 2 armour builds. I try not to leave it 2 long as i end up forgetting things, especially when it comes to weathering.

I also like to do Sci Fi builds and have a few ships i would like to do, so trying to fit those in as well can be tricky. But ye, i do find there are things i can take from one genre and use on another.

Great work Bish!  I have never done a float plane and this gives me inspiration to give it a go!  I think my next aircraft will be one for sure.  Like you though, I want to jump into at least one armor project first.  Do you find going between armor and aircraft gives you a nice balance on interest and also maybe updates your skill set so you can apply different techniques on both?

Bish,

This is a great subject and the kit looks good. The PE find was great luck and greatly improves the pit.  Your PE work looks great I just keep reminding myself one kit at a time and I will get better. Again great build and can't wait to see more.

Thnaks Toshi, and don't worry, like everythign else, it just takes practice. I have been useing this stuff for years, but even so i still mess it up at times. This is just a really nice set and great to put together.

Thanks for looking in guys. I was realy lucky to stumble on this PE set. My usual luck would have had me finish the build and then find it. And the kit pit really needs somthing.

Bob, its not one you see often. There is not much info out there, i couldn't find many pics of the interiour, and none of the pit, so haveing to wing it a bit.
