Stellar job, Fermis! Love the paint and decals. What did you use to weather this bird?

For the fading...started with black, then marbled with white. For the finish coat, I mixed black with already thinned clear gloss...roughly 25% black. After another gloss and decals, I mixed up a wash, raw umber, black and tan. When I sprayed the dull coat...the whole thing COMPLETELY fogged up. Took more dull coat to it, slowly, to eat away at the "fog"...was able to get the vast majority of it gone, leaving just enough to work to my advantage. After that, I used a buffing wheel in the Dremel as well as an old T-shirt to buff it a little, for a little bit of sheen.

Nice!  How did you replicate the tarmac and grass in that second set of pics?

Geeked Pardon me for staring but my eyes couldn't get enough of this bird.

GEEEEEZ that's fine work !

I've got an old 1/48 AMT night fighter version in the stash but the whole rear port side fuselage is missed cast and totally messed up. I contacted the mfg. but they said it's too old to get replacement parts for it. i sure wanted try to emulate your build with it, but it looks like I hafta get another kit to do so.

Another winner there Fermis! Yes

And great save on the fogged flat. I had the same happen a bunch of times a few years ago. I found that a light coat of gloss over it, I think I used Future but am not sure will clear it up. Then find some better matte finish to kill that shine.

Sweet indeed fermis, amazing job on a small subject, your persistence paid off.  Did I count 14 fixed guns pointed forward on that thing...ouch!

Wow, thing is larger than I thought it would be...a side-by-side comparison with the 111 you did awhile back would be kinda cool and all...just sayin...

It is pretty sizable...but still comparable to others, like the B-25, 26 and A-20.
