I can certainly agree with all that has been said. WELL DONE indeed! She's already beautiful, Bish.  :)

Oh yeah, nice work there Bish. The tri-colour USN scheme is a pain to paint but it looks sooooo good when it's done well like yours.

Thanks Joe. I used White tac to mask. But i didn't get it quite straight enough, so i had to tidy up a bit freehand. I know what you mean, the fit is perfetc. Hasegawa does the same thing with their B-24 kits.

Bravo Bish on a tri-color scheme well done. It looks great. Did you mask at all or did you free hand it? Yeah, how about how Eduard engineered those wings. I too was duly impressed. Seriously, you don't need to even glue them in place.

I'm soo proud of you.Boo Hoo

Time for a short update, mainly been painting this week so that took a bit of time. All the assembly was done soon after the last update. This went together like a dream. I just needed a small bit of filler infront of the canopy, but i think that was more doen to me. I really like how the wings fit especially, no filler at all there.

And then off to the paint booth. After some primer, i used Xtracolor white on the underside and the two blues are Humbrol. I left 2 days between each coat before masking and then finished off with Alclad gloss on top, as the Xtracolor is gloss anyway.

I am just taking a break from adding the decals, so should have that doen tonight and then some detail painting.

I had the exact same thought when I looked at those seatbelts, then neglected to comment.

Harmony in the world. Ha ha, Rix. Big Smile

So what does PTO stand for?

fightnjoe, thank you very much.

Joe R, o ye, i forgot about that, just went backed and checked your pics. It is indeed a great kit, i have primed it and got the undersides painted and i did use one single bit of filler.

I did do a PTO P-61 last year and i do have a PV-1 in the stash. So it definatly won't be my last. they have all been gifts, but you never now, i might actally buy one myself, i do like the Corsair.

WOO HOO!!! Just when things seem a might bit bleak in the world her comes Bish building a USN fighter. Aww, things are much better now that there is true harmony.Big Smile I couldn't be any prouder. Kidding aside, You are doing an awesome job on the Hellcat Bish. Glad you are enjoying the Eduard kit because, well, there is everything to enjoy about it. It is simply a beautiful Hellcat kit. As you may recall, I just recently finished that same kit and it was pure joy to build. I hope this opens the door to some more PTO builds from you. I know in my heart that you would really enjoy building a USN aircraft in the tri-color scheme. Welcome to the even darker side my friend.

P.S. You KNOW I'll be following this.

Bish

Thanks G. These belts were pretty easy. The shoulder straps were one piece and the lap belts just two each. I have had 72nd PE belts were i had to assemble the whole thing.

A Zero, now that would be differant. I think i could handle that. As long as i don't have to buld the one starting in S, i don't mind.

Lol, a Spitzero??? Hmm, I think Spizero sounds even better though... Stick out tongue
