Yeah, if someone out there would make a good 1/48 scale P-82 that would be great. With options for Merlin power as well as Allison power. The two prototypes and the next 20 P-82s had Merlin engines! The Allison powered P(F)-82s were slower and had a lower operating ceiling. I think Rolls Royce wanted a $6000 per engine licensing fee so NAA switched to the Allison very early in P-82 production. The prototype that is being restored at Reilly's shop in Douglas, GA has Merlin power. One Merlin turns left, the other turns right. So if you are building the Monogram kit be sure that the propellers both turn in and not out! The right engine turns left, the left engine turns right.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
